Dear El Guevo, I have to tell you that I came to this artist through a personal journey, so it’s quite likely that my observations are not accurate.
...DOH!...
I discovered him from the Lynyrd Skynyrd live album One More From The Road where they performed a song by Jimmy/ie Ro(d)gers, so I set out to look for something by this artist. I heard he played blues with an accordion, and I thought I had found the man... instead, I miserably failed. Regarding the fact that Jimmie Rodgers does pop, I saw that on Wikipedia concerning the voice referred to Jimmy Rogers [[[Not to be confused with Jimmie Rodgers, the singing brakeman, nor Jimmie Rodgers the 50s/60s pop singer.]]]
Anyway, despite the blunder, I still recommend this record which is truly brilliant. ;)
