But sorry, public enemy #1 is a great track! I agree that this version is almost identical to the original and adds very little, but it's still great.

I have a lot to say about "primitive music" - here we already diverge quite a bit because, as you know, Riley Reich etc. have simply taken pre-existing expressive forms (in Indonesian gamelan, for example) and westernized them, that is, popularized them, or made them "cultured." But the fact that the artistic intuition of Asian or African peoples is considered "primitive" by us, while the same intuition is reinterpreted by "high" Western artists and becomes "cultured," really smells of cultural snobbery and extreme occidentalism. Regarding what you think is art, I have nothing to object, given that for me it is something different, and for a third party it will be different again. As for OV, I would like to say that from time to time I listen to it - not everything, just bits - and I enjoy anticipating the slightest change, the nuance, and certainly altered states of consciousness help to appreciate it. However, I consider it an album that stands out for its courage and tenacity in pushing forward a musical idea that is different from the mainstream.

What a shame, Preta', you were doing so well, then with that phrase, "this is not art," you ruined everything. What is art? And who cares, really. At the very least, it’s a courageous album, certainly technically challenging, probably unnecessary. But with this yardstick, then all, absolutely all, albums are derivative; it's just that with OV it’s more obvious given the monolithicity. I don’t like it, to be clear, but considering the crap that’s being listened to around, dismissing it by saying that Riley did it forty years ago is really too little as a comment on the album and resembles more a comment on your culture. If that’s the case, clubs that beat stones with regular rhythms have been heard for thousands of years before Reich, and Riley, and Orthrelm, and so what?

So, am I a "truzzo"? Or a "rock"? Or slow? Or even Celentano himself?

Hey, if you really like "ov," I think you should listen to "drumming" by Steve Reich. You'll immediately understand why I'm recommending it. Then, at the tavern, it will be a celebration... greetings repeated-titi-titi-vi.
Franti/Contrazione Split
Voto:
Good job, Under. Between the two, however, I prefer Contrazione with that unlikely voice of the singer and his deadly "erremoscia." The Franti were certainly great, but musically too scattered, lacking focus.
If anyone is interested in the epic of that period (although it doesn’t talk about Franti or Contrazione but many other bands from the Turin and Milan area of the time), I recommend the book "I ragazzi del mucchio" by Bernelli, bassist of Declino and the grandiose Indigesti.
