The sex scene is beautiful and intense (what did you expect? I'm not Anita Blonde and Malone...) and it's a moment of liberating explosion for the protagonist... Then the media exploit it more than necessary, for the film it's all publicity but probably the audience receives a distorted image.

Okay, now it's clearer, I understand what you mean. I'm usually quite curious about the outcome of the adaptation. However, for example, I have my (big) doubts about Persepolis, the wonderful graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi that is coming out in theaters right now... but if a chance comes up, I'll give it a try. I've heard great things about the Coen brothers' film, and personally, I can’t wait for it to be released. So long.

Well, with this logic, supersoul, shouldn't we refrain from watching half of the film production, dedicating ourselves only to original subjects? When Italian literature finally provides a good story for cinema, why not reward it (at least) with a viewing? I don't understand.

Beautiful, truly beautiful. Dry but not sterile, it doesn’t aim for easy tears; on the contrary, it carefully avoids them. Credit goes to a great screenplay (co-written by Moretti himself) and an excellent cast of actors. The soundtrack is also superb. A must-see.

Everything and the opposite of everything can be said about Johansson as an actress, but as a woman, there is little to complain about. Sexy to the power of three. Keira Knightley is cute in the face but she's a shriveled anorexic.

Verdone's youth work, less significant than other (rightfully) more celebrated titles. There's not even anything like the legendary "cargo flying the Liberian flag," but it's still quite enjoyable.
