David Gilmour On a Island
Voto:
I agree with Shine on AHM, the live versions without orchestra available on bootleg seem much more effective to me than the one on record! I think they simply should have worked on it more. It would be interesting if they revisited it now... it would be an intriguing project, even a good excuse for a joint project with Waters, too bad they couldn't care less. I’m voting OAI again because the 3 I gave it at the beginning penalizes it too much.
Pink Floyd Echoes The Best Of
Voto:
The Pink Floyd lend themselves little to the traditional best of, yet in this case the experiment has succeeded, and the most convincing aspect, in my opinion, is precisely the continuous oscillation between different eras, combined with the merging of tracks, which highlight on one hand the versatility of the band over 30 years of history, but on the other hand the common thread that connects Astronomy Domine to Another Brick In The Wall to Keep Talking.
The Rolling Stones Their Satanic Majesties Request
Voto:
The Stones also play the psychedelic card, just like their rivals the Beatles, but the psychedelic masterpiece of 1967 is and remains the dazzling debut of the Pink Floyd led for the first and last time by Syd Barrett. Here, Jagger and the gang similarly pull a handful of excellent songs out of the hat, but they are not on their own turf, which remains the blues rock of Sticky Fingers. Now that's where there's no competition.
Audio 2 Senza Riserve

Oh God, I got lost in "historical group"... I mean, come on, for two -after all- imitators it seems like an excessive compliment.

Well, as for the imitation of Battisti, they honestly seemed quite cloned to me. Even in terms of style, not just voice, it was a bit too much to not think it was strongly intended and studied. And a bit too much to last, as we've seen. In those same years, there was also the clone of Baglioni, even less fortunate because it lasted even less.

3.5 on the disc.

Sorry, but in your rush to "tick" you missed the only ending of The Blue, which on its own justifies the entire piece, along with a lot of other things. Beyond how you judge the album, I hope that’s not really how you listened to it. And then, I mean, why should there be Waters' style on a David Gilmour album? The album is not bad at all; in fact, it has its moments. Then again, it’s the usual old story: solo Pink Floyd members aren’t worth as much as the band, whether it’s 4 or 3.
Fabrizio De André Rimini

PS for the reviewer: Andrea the story of someone who gets lost and doesn’t know how to return???? but how? Andrea is nothing more than the story of a homosexual love, albeit in times a bit less accustomed to these kinds of themes than ours.

Underrated album. It features the best of De André, with new rock influences. It would be a 4.5, but we'll gladly leave out the extra half :)
