Kula Shaker Strangefolk
Voto:
Beautiful album, I haven't listened to anything else for the past few days. Amazing Kula Shaker.

@trickykid: I assure you that Giusto Pio is co-author of the music (not just the arrangements) of a good part of the material between Il Cinghiale bianco and L'arca di Noè. Don't be misled by the credits on the original albums, as if you look at subsequent editions, sheet music, etc., you will see that things are a bit different. That said, I reiterate, it does not change by a comma the value of Battiato, who has always credited the various Pio, Cosentino, Messina, Camisasca, and so on up to Sgalambro when he collaborated.

Not to be picky but Maria Bellucci is Italian only by name ;-)))

No, I've never listened to him. The "expanded universe" of Battiato, so to speak, interests me, but it's not like I'm going out of my way to look for everything.

Thanks, losco, I already have that one downloaded from the mule ;-) but I'd like to have it on DVD...

The Pythons are absolutely brilliant, but I believe this film suffers from its own structure and is therefore a step below the Holy Grail or Life of Brian. That said, it deserves a solid four stars, if only for the parrot sketch! PS when will there be a petition to finally distribute the DVD of Monty Python's Life of Brian in Italy? It's fine that we are the Country with the Vatican inside, but it's a shame that that film still suffers from a kind of silent ban.

Yes, a couple of them, the ones with Battiato, I reviewed here on Debaser. Now Pio, at his lovely age, has returned to cultured electronic music...

Of course he had help composing, and it's no mystery that behind the chain of Cinghiale - patriots - voice - arca, but also reaching distant worlds, the songs were almost all written in collaboration with Giusto Pio. I’m talking about Giusto Pio, not the invisible man. So it’s fair that enormous credit goes to this great musician for Battiato's "golden period," but without taking anything away from Battiato's genius.

Saying that he wouldn't sell is equivalent to saying that record labels are right to produce only what they like to produce, that is, trash. I, on the other hand, believe that this album, and others, even in more recent times, have shown that it's possible to make quality music that sells. Of course, the doubt I have is that a Battiato or a De André today would be relegated to the indie market, and not by choice.

@primiballi: I think I have an idea of what you like about silver and I DON'T think this movie falls into that category. There are definitely trash moments, but I can't tell you if there are too many or too few, you know :-) But what can I say, I don't regret watching it. As I've written elsewhere, for me, for many reasons, it's still better than his recent rubbish.
