anyway (even if I'm not really into rap) Cannibal Ox are definitely a war (my favorite album in the genre for a long time), "Fantastic Damage" is good too, but it gets a bit boring after a while... recommend us some good stuff

I still haven't felt like listening to "Hail to the Thief"... that said, what I like about de-baser is the chance to see the "living flesh" that you showcase in the review, hum... depressed? Why do you listen to Radiohead? I've read that melancholy gives meaning and depth to life, and I agree. It can be a double-edged sword, but without it, it's hard to feel "elevated"; then again, "de gustibus"... beauty is often heartbreaking. "It's a sad and beautiful world, isn't it?"

For me, this album has always been a half-assed effort...
two or three stunning tracks (sogni e sintomi, linea gotica and irata - ruined, towards the end, by Ginevra Di Marco's voice - is it her? I propose her as Sting's backing vocalist...)
and then?
a grandiloquence straight out of a New Gospel ("la caaaasa, la chieeeesa!" and the pastries? and the grand prize? where's the incisiveness of CCCP); musically a few nice moments (the line from cupe vampe, the intro from esco) and then nothing significant (perhaps negatively - see the tacky sabbathism of millenni - bah!)
in the end, respect for what is attempted to be explored but, barring the notable exceptions (which nonetheless justify the album), a record that "doesn't resonate with me."
