(Just a note on the review: precise, I liked it, some nice images... however, it is true that you are leaning a bit towards the professional, Francis... I almost miss the Francis of the review on "grace," who had the merit, by stating big claims - and exaggerating - to provoke thought and manage to stir things up...)

Well, I liked the album but I still saw some limits, almost a lack of willingness to "push further": it's very enjoyable to listen to them (I also agree with sfascia that 'going blank again' is of high quality) but if you think, for example (and this comes to mind spontaneously) of the MBV, it somewhat diminishes them... keeping in mind that some tracks are truly beautiful, I fully agree with Francis's preferences... anyway, to my ears, it's a very adolescent album (neither a merit nor a flaw).

Well, shark, there are so many reviews here and websites dedicated to poetry, in general... there are plenty of debates... as for not knowing the notes, I don't see it as such a fundamental limit for certain types of expression: if you’re a rapper (or maybe a griot singing following a framework and melodic lines learned by listening to your ancestors) you can very well find yourself in those conditions and still be good and worthy of attention anyway.

Frasco, indeed, you're a bit rigid about rap, huh... I'm definitely not a fan, but for instance, 'The Cold Vein' by Cannibal Ox (I don't remember the year, after 2000 anyway) was a valid and original album, even according to those who know more than I do and 'follow' rap... putting a tombstone on a genre seems excessive to me, even if we were talking about the minuet...

Sure, nothing prevents me from considering (for example) my own crap a work of art: in that case, before flushing the toilet (unless it attracts someone else's attention and convinces them to give me credit) I would be the only one to have visual evidence of it; a classic borderline case in which the artist and the consumer coincide, yep...

Ah, frasco, look it's really simple: basically everything (or almost) is art, according to my very nonchalant description; actually, if we want to narrow it down to this bullshit ;D let’s say that, staying true to the idea that art (like love) is made by two (or more), it would be the audience that determines whether this exchange of views is artistic or not... and lots of nonsense. Honor and glory to fuck.

Frasco, let me reply briefly on this matter... using a 'language' that has already been used does not necessarily mean conforming to it rigidly, so one can be significant and touching (I'm avoiding the term 'artistic' which I find very difficult to define as you do... for me, art is expression, communication, and that's it) even within a 'genre': for example, making a film noir does not necessarily mean creating something predictable; it's determined by the other half of artistic communication, that is, the one who watches-feels-etc., the recipient... there was someone who said that in art the artist does only half the work, the rest is done by those who come into contact with the work: I find that absolutely right. saludos

oh easy, old pig, how's it going? ;)
I'm glad you like it; in the end, I find myself agreeing with those who say it gets a bit tiring over time, I don't know... but at least in the beginning, it's really enjoyable and sharp, imho.
