I really like this record, just as the late Bangs did... let's skip the dissertations (I’m not sure how valid they are) about the nature of the work – just a quick note: Lou, it seems to me, set the machines and made them play 'on their own', a similar experiment to some works of classical music, I believe the first time something like this was done in the popular sphere, assuming a clear division between highbrow and popular really makes sense – back to me... I love the feedback and, to make an analogy, listening to a track from this record (well, I never listen to it all at once) equals, for me, staring at a flame, with its always shifting tongues, their 'random' yet 'captivating' dances capable of inducing a stupefying trance (I’m not a pyromaniac yet, though...); you see, I don't get tired of listening to it, quite the opposite, and without any 'explanation', mediation, other than the feeling that I’m witnessing the release of uncontrollable energy...
