NOFX Wolves In Wolves' Clothing

There’s a whole paragraph filled with a list of song titles whose following judgment is essentially “all stuff that’s been heard a million times.” And in my opinion, this is too trivial an argument, especially when used against a group that has always been performing and that inevitably today can only attempt to stay afloat. An argument that is valid for this CD as well as for too many other CDs, to be mentioned without question in this review but not to be reiterated for every song on the CD in a didactic manner. “Oh come on, you seem a bit repetitive, reread my previous response.” I know you don’t want to take away any rights from me and that you’re not trying to be anyone's champion, but for heaven's sake can you understand that there are no other ways to describe something that’s trite and repeated other than to say that it’s trite and repeated? Why do you say it's a trivial argument? Maybe because it can be said about many records? But if something needs to be said, it should be said; you can’t label it trivial if it’s a type of widespread comment. In my opinion, this is a trite and repeated album because in the magical world of punk EVERYONE makes records of this caliber, I’ve already heard countless albums like this, so please don’t label me as banal but rather these identical groups (mediocre, to stay on topic) and not me who is aghast at their uselessness. I don’t want NOFX who are inevitably trying not to sink, don’t justify bad albums by saying, “poor little band trying not to sink”; if the album sucks, it sucks, and if a band has to make shitty albums that even smell of theft, I hope they break up. “Whoever buys the CD either already knows there are songs from the EPs (and therefore knows what they’re getting into) or doesn’t know, and so it makes no difference.” It makes no difference? You think so? I instead think of people who have all the EPs from last year, and I think that if they had known that a certain number of songs would be released this way, some would have chosen to forgo buying it, right? But what kind of way is that? This is a fraudulent move from a major label, stuff I’d expect from a different kind of people altogether. Honestly, it makes me sick to see NOFX at such a low level that they’re forced to put out an album with SIX songs that were released the year before in ridiculously expensive EPs of two songs each… I don’t know about you…

Come on, kappa, don’t take offense because I call you dear dear or because I say you make me laugh :))) come on, I’m not mocking you. Listen, I don’t know any other way to review than to take the album, listen to it, open a file in a writing program, introduce it, talk a little about who made it, and then MOVE ON TO ANALYZE EACH SONG OR THE MOST SIGNIFICANT PIECES THROUGH ADJECTIVES, which can, depending on the reviewer’s judgment, undermine or enhance the hard work of the album in question. I don’t start with the intention of belittling anyone; I’m not prejudiced (for example) against Leone di Lernia, imagine if I’d want to belittle NOFX, who have always been one of my favorite bands, I wouldn’t even think about it; it’s obvious and natural, though, that when they do something that sucks, I can’t do anything but write it down, and it disappoints me greatly. So let’s not start saying things like "justifying (the negative judgments) by taking song by song and stating 2 adjectives to belittle everything doesn’t make sense or utility to me." Honestly, how many songs and albums can you do the same thing for? I think the vast majority of the stuff out there" because all this doesn’t make sense: mine is a personal judgment, I don’t work for an anti-NOFX lobby and I gain nothing if I cover them in crap, I’ve described the pieces in the way I saw fit, I didn’t “belittle” them, I smeared them because that’s what I think they deserve, and I used 2 adjectives that aren’t even too harsh (after all, I didn’t give them a 1 but a 2) because for this musical flatness, that’s more than enough. All this can indeed be done for all the albums out there, or rather, for all albums considered bad, while for those considered good, beautiful words will be used, and for those deemed brilliant or excellent, really beautiful words... you got it? And then, look, about reviewing in a "historical" way, really, don’t say anything, because there’s no more objective way to judge an album than to compare it with its predecessors that naturally have a "different moment and context," but also hold their own value, and a good band’s job is to make good albums BEYOND different moments and contexts. Reread the review because I didn’t say it’s pure crap; I said this is a banal, slightly ugly album, definitely not up to NOFX standards, and I repeat that if they have to do fundraising of this kind, make uninspired albums and fundamentally not truly desired while just recycling themselves to line their pockets, then I really hope they break up and leave behind an image of masters in this genre, and not as a bunch of old-timers dreaming of the glory of their youth.

Look dear kappa, let me tell you, first of all, I didn’t make the bold text, but those cheerful folks who publish the reviews (I didn’t put any), and then don’t talk to me about pathetic climaxes if you end your comment with "FATTA MALE" in uppercase (come on, you're really making me laugh too much :))) ). Secondly, I didn’t actually ask for extra points because I’ve known NOFX (by the way, it’s written all in uppercase) for ages, I just informed you of the fact to highlight that if I compare them to what they’ve done in the past, it’s not far-fetched and indeed, you’re right, this should be the minimum requirement for reviewing, no one said otherwise. But let’s get to the point: dear dear kappa, when I say "il solito giretto," it means "the usual little trip," and it’s clear that this was it and nothing more. I’d like to point out that there are no trivializing adjectives; rather, it’s the objects that these adjectives qualify that are trivial. Dear dear kappa, if I tell you "trito e ritrito," it means it’s "trito e ritrito," and this doesn’t mean trivializing something, it rather means that thing is trivial, that is, worn out and stale (in this case, the album). But my dear kappa, I know full well that in so long and not just there, there are songs from old eps (and I point out to stay on topic the triviality of your statement since even if you didn’t know, it wouldn’t change the fact that it’s a SCAM, even a 5-year-old who doesn’t know what NOFX are could tell you that) but there’s a big difference between including 1 or 2 tracks from an old (and rare) ep re-recorded for the occasion and making an album where 1/3 has been released drop by drop last year and labeled as unreleased: I wouldn’t call people who behave like this fools (as you claim, but where did I say that? oh well) but "sly" I would, especially to warn younger people that certain bands shouting a "100% punk" attitude might not always be entirely honest. My dear friend, I think before speaking you should think a few times, because reviews of bad and trivial albums MUST necessarily state that the album is bad and trivial, worn out and stale, the usual little trip, don’t you agree? The tracks should be judged one by one and compared with older ones, and if you despise them it should be expressed with arrogance, don’t you think? If you believe you can do better, I invite you instead to rewrite the review.

Horrendous record conceived by equally horrendous characters, another failed clone of the clones of ippop USA. They do nothing but copy scripts, with results that make one feel nauseous. How can such people decide to rap? The answer is that there are others who buy their records. But then the real question is: why on earth would anyone want to buy such a record? I wouldn't even want it for free.

MF Doom and Madlib together could only serve up something to lick your lips over, but in reality, they did much more; this album is colossal. And MF Doom is still the same phenomenon. One of the best rap albums I've ever heard.

A'Stefano, a'ripjiate. "Insomniac" is neither bad nor a dookie 2. Insomniac is the most toxic, deviant, cynical, and nihilistic facet the Green Day have shown us about themselves; it’s one of the five masterpieces by GD and deserves all my (and your :D) respect. "Warning" isn't bad; it's pure shit without excuses, even worse than "American Idiot", which might sound impossible to say, but it’s absolutely true. The GD had already hit rock bottom before A.I. This is the bottom. I bought it as soon as it came out, filled with hopes... what a shitty disappointment. How disgusting. The Green Day have aged.
Green Day Nimrod

The first album of old age (no no, not maturity, OLD AGE) of the Green Day, rather, the transition from the real Green Day to the childish ones they are now. And all in all their last masterpiece and the album that made me discover them and opened up a world to me. After "Nimrod" there’s only dry crap, before it pure gold. Compare and see for yourself.
