I didn't like the review either; honestly, I'm really fed up with the prejudices regarding nu-metal and similar genres. Damn, if it's well-made music with passion, why trash it just because it's nu-metal? The first Deftones album overshadows much of the true metal production from the late '90s, just like the self-titled Slipknot album and even early Korn. A little open-mindedness wouldn't hurt... especially since there aren't just Death and Metallica...

Well, Swedish black metal has nothing to do with TRUE black, the Norwegian one. Dark Funeral, Marduk, and the like will never reach the levels of grand groups like Darkthrone or Immortal, to name a few.
