Christina Aguilera Back To Basics

Ain't No Other Man, as Bisius says, ends with a blast of blastbeats reminiscent of Cephalic Carnage from the days of Exploiting Dysfunction. A true tribute to extreme and brutal music, and then Christina has a growl that's too low; in my opinion, she'll duet with Chris Barnes on the next Six Feet Under album (when it comes out, I don't know XD).

Leonid, I agree with you on Ontogony Of Behaviour, but almost all the songs on the CD, apart from being shorter than those on previous albums, are much more immediate and less convoluted. Take tracks like Scientific Remote Viewing or The Will Or The Way and compare them to Pseudo or Anthro-Emesis from Lucid Interval, or Counting The Days and Kill For Weed with Rehab or Lucid Interval (title-track). For me, this is more straightforward than previous works, less complicated, also because there are no very long tracks alternated with others under a minute; here it seems to me that there is a common thread that ties everything together.

Good review, although it's a bit rushed at the end since you didn't mention Right In Two and Intension, but other than that it's well written, even though I don't think this album can change the history of rock. Still, I quite like this album even though "Aenima" is unbeatable.

Linkin Park make nu-letam, OBVIOUSLY, what are all these discussions about the genre they do? They are neither rap, nor punk, nor pop, nor rock, nor metal, nor nu-metal, nor rap-metal: THEY ARE NU-LETAM! :D
