I didn't mean to say that you're limited to just one genre. In fact, I asked you what kind of Doom you listen to, and you responded with names of bands that lean heavily towards gothic or sepulchral, sad atmospheres, etc. Sludge, on the other hand, is different, both in terms of influences (as I mentioned before, it draws a lot from hardcore punk) and in terms of atmosphere and themes (often related to drugs, but most of the time with a lot of irony). I just thought it might be a bit far from your usual listening, that's all :)

X Macaco: sludge is a variant of doom metal that incorporates hardcore-punk influences. If you're interested, check out bands like Eyehategod, Neurosis, Isis, Crowbar, Cult Of Luna; if you like doom, you won't be disappointed ;) As for the term "blastbeats," it's the word used to describe the drums played at full speed, like a machine gun, with repeated hits on the snare, the classic "ta ta ta ta ta ta ta" used in grindcore. If you're familiar with Scum by Napalm Death, you know what I mean :)

I didn't really like this album much, the title track is beautiful but the rest left me a bit cold. Maybe I'm getting too old for this stuff, who knows : )
