Nick Drake Five Leaves Left

Beautiful. A masterpiece. Everything is very poetic, from the lyrics to the music to Drake's singing. Sublime musical sections: majestic arpeggios, somber cello, sweetest flute melodies, very beautiful string arrangements (etc.). An album that reflects the soul of a character who likely found refuge from his depressions only in music.

Good album! It's the first album of theirs that I'm listening to, and it's great. It's a type of prog (jazz-rock) that I really enjoy. The singer is fantastic, clearly inspired by Stratos, as you mentioned, just as the band draws inspiration from Area, evident in some parts of the album (like in the track "Repubblica III"). Wonderful lineup: violin, keyboards, guitar, bass, drums, and trumpet in one piece. Thank goodness, prog is still alive, and there’s still some good stuff out there...

OMMMMIODDDDDIO....did THE NEW TUXEDOMOON ALBUM COME OUT? greaaaat, I need to get it as soon as possible, I had no idea. I know many of their albums and I rank them among my favorite bands, even though I'm not a follower of new wave. Their sound is new wave with various influences, even jazz. They are one of the most original bands, different from all the rest. I find the latest album stunning and you can notice a great maturity achieved by the individual musicians of the group (well, not that they were immature and in bad taste before...). I saw them live in 2004, after the release of "cabin in the sky," phenomenal. I'm super curious to listen to this new work, I’ll start searching for it right now...

I agree about the envy... it's tragic that they skipped the date in Rome, the most accessible destination for me among those scheduled for Silver Mount Zion (I'm from Naples)...

Very, very beautiful. The mix of ambient, jazz, rock, funk, and whatever else is very original... The musicians from Tortoise participating in the work confirm their greatness, as does Rob Mazurek, whom I admit I got to know through this album. The latter deserves further exploration in his various projects. I will do that soon.
