Aside from the fact that I don't appreciate your tone at all and I have no intention of engaging in a conversation of this kind with someone who does not respect other people's opinions, 90125 IN MY OPINION (better specify since there are people who don't understand or pretend not to understand) is anything but a masterpiece: FOR ME, Yes said everything they needed to say in the '70s. It's clear that Alan Parsons makes top-notch pop (from this album onwards, for me he doesn't), but Alan has always had, being a producer, a good nose for picking up and interpreting current trends. He is one of the few who has managed to align high-quality pop with the commercial tastes of the masses. But this game of his only lasted so long: for me, this album is the first step toward the abyss, where the hunger for fame will turn him into a skilled hitmaker and a mere copy of himself. I will overlook the rude and provocative humor of your comparisons (Duran Duran?), and I bid you farewell.

You piqued my curiosity; a fan like me of nwobhm can't ignore them. In any case, the review is good, but you make some punctuation errors and unnecessary repetitions. Read it over better before publishing! I would give you a 4 because the review is very detailed, but I’ll lower it to a 3 for the grammatical errors!

I don't know this album, but the review is really well written and Neil Young is an indescribably immense musician.

"ONE OF THOSE BANDS THAT HAS GREATLY CONTRIBUTED TO THE PILE OF SHITTY MUSIC FROM THE '90s." Excuse me, but do you think before you say certain things? How can you say that R.E.M. contributed to the commercial crap of the '90s? Maybe you're confusing them with Take That; the fact that they are pop doesn't mean they are commercial. Let's not confuse the pop music genre, which is usually more successful because it is "simple, POPular, and therefore accessible to everyone," with commercial. R.E.M. made great albums (Monster, Murmur, Green) in the past, then they stabilized with radio-friendly pop music, always the same but of quality. This album is, in my opinion, the first of this category. In any case, what kind of nickname is "anticommunist"? Aside from the fact that it is a debatable opinion, why not choose antifascist or antiracist instead of anticommunist? I am not a communist, but I can't quite understand the choice.

Excellent review and excellent reflections, yours. I agree with your thoughts on the album (I would exclude the title track and little else), but I have less agreement on how you spoke of the others: good music, and there's no doubt about that, but Alan Parsons has always had the cleverness to compose very melodic pieces (often at the expense of quality, even though it remains high), with the tendency to fall into the pit of pomposity and the most hideous sentimentality. Not to mention that he has always drawn inspiration from Pink Floyd, and at times he has really traced them (Time, as beautiful as it is, owes a lot to Floyd). Then of course it must be said that from here on it will only get worse, culminating in the composition of triumphant and overly sweet soundtracks (La Sagrada Familia, I believe).

In any case, I liked the review. I'd prefer not to rate the album because I don't remember if I actually listened to this one.

In the genre, the album is good. In my opinion, it’s a genre that should be taken for what it is; there’s no point in looking for depth or "a desire to cross new musical frontiers" that isn't there.
