Personally, I'm crazy about fantasy; I'm the classic reader who rereads the book from 20 to 6000 times... the film is very beautiful, although many parts have been completely overlooked (as Pibroch already mentioned, very important pieces like Bombadil or the matter of Saruman and the Shire towards the end are completely ignored)... the special effects are very beautiful, I admit, although many suffer from excessive exaggeration, if that's a term... between the book and the film, I choose the book, with which you can definitely spend more hours in an engaging read... Tolkien 1, Jackson 0, ball in center.
