Sorry, I don't frequent this review much and it's been a long time since I've been on the site in general, moreover I don't know many users. Can you explain to me what the hell Morocco has to do with this? If it's part of a complex joke, I didn't catch the funny side.

I liked this, but I’m scared to listen to others because they told me they're much more black metal, is that true?

"The essential"? They should have included 4 songs then!
Kiss MTV Unplugged

I grew up with Kiss, but back then I was impressively ignorant. Now I'm still quite ignorant, but I don't make an impression anymore, and I find Kiss pointless and, at times, even ridiculous. I wanted to say that I didn't mind Psycho Circus; on the contrary, it was a pleasure to see that they didn't just dust off their old sounds. However, frankly, I think that album is full of very subtle plagiarisms, but I can't prove it—I don't have any particular song in mind, it's just a matter of feelings. Aside from this, maybe it's, hold on tight, their best album. As for the rest, let's say that Destroyer was a more than decent hard rock album, and the rest is forgettable, except for this unplugged which is really quite pleasant. Oh dear, I haven't listened to all their albums, so consider my judgments referring only to these albums: Kiss, Alive II, Destroyer, Alive IV, Creatures of the Night, Dynasty, Unplugged, Psycho Circus, Killers, Greatest. I also liked Alive II as a live album, but technically it could have been better; the unreleased tracks were nice. However, I reiterate, a band to forget overall (and I'm sorry to say it too, because I find Simmons very likable!).

Really! And why is that? Anyway, from now on, you are my idol too!

I will look for the recommended groups, and I also take this opportunity to wish everyone happy holidays. Anyway, I share Adriano's sentiment about Dream Theater, but only if it's related to their "history" in general: there are at least 2 or 3 albums that I think are not just about technique. I'm referring to their intermediate period, the one that is more prog but also more melodic.

I appreciate their eclecticism, and surely not many dare to venture into so many different genres. However, these individual genres are nothing new, so I prefer to listen to musicians who do the same things better (better "for me" clearly, right!). There are original musicians, they are extremely rare but they exist, and they are mostly emerging self-produced artists, not famous bands (even if considered "niche"!). In any case, if no one is capable of inventing anything anymore, we can just listen to old records; personally, I don’t feel the need for new prog, psychedelic, prog metal, prog jazz bands, etc. The fact that Wilson is a multi-instrumentalist doesn’t surprise me: in these circles, they all are; we’re not talking about a punk band! Anyway, you might be surprised, but I quite like Dream Theater (apart from the very latest and the very first). They haven't invented anything either, you’re right (they just took Emerson, Lake & Palmer and remade them metal version), but their melodies are much more refined, and that’s a factor that really captivates me!

Well, nothing in particular. At first, I found their sound enjoyable because it was familiar to me, having grown up musically with bands that clearly inspired the band in question. However, they soon tired me for several reasons:
1) Their melodic flatness doesn't really capture my attention anymore
2) They are too derivative, very little original
3) The voice irritates me
In addition to this, when I listened to them, I had recently rediscovered progressive and psychedelic rock that I had set aside for a long time, so I got more excited than necessary. Now I’m clear-headed because I was in overdose of prog and similar styles, and I can't stand clones of the old '70s bands anymore.
