I didn’t know this story about Led Zeppelin. I know everything about Uriah Heep, while I have a decent knowledge of the Zep, but I definitely can't count myself among the experts. - For Fest and Pretazzo: in my opinion, U.H., while being similar to other groups, are at the same time different… in fact, each album by the band doesn’t resemble the previous one. Let me explain better: the debut is hard/psych (it could even resemble the contemporary "Black Sabbath"). Then they made half a dozen hard/prog albums before moving to pop/rock (late '70s) and hard rock in the '80s. Nowadays, they’ve returned to hard/prog. More than a band, you could say they are many groups sharing a common name… they are similar to everything, but at the same time different from everything. Then, rightly so, everyone has their own tastes. - Returning to the Led&Zep post: Heep have changed bassists several times, but I don’t recall Danny Miranda ever being in the band.

Then there is also the criticism that should not be underestimated. Always using the previous example... the Zep, if I'm not mistaken, never had any significant issues with critics. Meanwhile, the less known, but equally talented, Uriah Heep has always been wiped off the map: one of those so-called critics, after their first album, even said, "if this band is successful, then I will commit suicide!" (he probably did commit suicide since U.H. has released a remarkable 20 studio albums and are still active). You can imagine that if you don't know the band and you see in the newspaper someone, who in theory should be an expert in music, making a statement like that... well, it certainly doesn't encourage you to buy the album.

For me, always speaking of bands of a certain caliber, some have had more success than others simply because they had the luck (and why not... also the talent) to produce a song that would go down in history... like "Stairway To Heaven" for Led Zeppelin or "Bohemian Rhapsody" for Queen. - Let me give you an example using two quite similar groups: an album like "Salisbury" by Uriah Heep, in my opinion, is just as valuable as the highly praised "Led Zeppelin IV"... in fact, it was released a few years earlier. Yet, very few know the first, while practically everyone knows the second.

I just arrived (and practically everything has already been said)... anyway, from my point of view, it’s never possible to say "the greatest band" especially because there's always the factor of taste: you can say "one of the greatest bands"... and of course, it should be a list that includes at least ten bands, not just a couple! I could also easily tell you <<The Led Zeppelin??? If they are the greatest, then what were Emerson Lake & Palmer, Yes, and King Crimson?>>... simply because, while I greatly appreciate both the Zep and the Queen, I prefer progressive.

Great Poletti. Another little research on the internet and another chance to stay silent thrown to the wind. Keep it up, my hero.

John Fogerty is an important figure, even though I admit I’m not familiar with his solo career. Surely, at least one review, he deserves it all. Great!
