I’ll reiterate briefly the comment I made in the other review. The film is fairly enjoyable... and the ideas are there. It could have been a little gem, but a tedious beginning and a terrible ending ruin what's good in the middle part.

Getting back on topic... I agree with YC regarding the album. Three stars (I'd say generous).

Ken Hensley Proud Words On A Dusty Shelf
Voto:
Well done, our Pier Paolo... but how many discounts are you digging up these days? For me, Ken Hensley is absolutely a top-tier musician. Sure, he may not be one of those hyper-virtuosos, but that's not the only requirement to be a "great player." I love how the organ sounds with such fervor... and those rough, sharp tones! - Getting back to the point: this "Proud Words..." is truly an extraordinary album (4 and a ½ stars in the DeBaserian rating scale). His level of creativity during those years is really impressive: "Demons & Wizards" and "The Magician's Birthday" with the Heep, plus this solo work of his... in a very tight timeframe. A phenomenon!

In my opinion, the album is not a masterpiece, but it's not bad either ("Anni Mundi," for example, is a really successful track)... my favorite with Tony Martin remains "The Eternal Idol." - I agree with comment no. 1 by Bartleboom...

It was so obvious that I was a bit agitated when I left the comment? Ahahah... Azat, send me a postcard from the center of the universe: I'm curious to see what it's like! ;-)

I saw it just the other night, and it didn’t seem like much to me. Yes, for heaven's sake, I think it reaches a certain level of sufficiency... but with all the talk surrounding it, one logically expected much more! On the positive side, the shots made using "The Blair Witch Project" technique are well done and convey a good dose of dread. Moreover, once the monster appears, the tension is always very high. So far, based on what I’ve said, it would seem like a great film... but there are also the 'cons', and what 'cons'!!! The entire first part (that is, before the monster shows up) is painfully boring: X is with Y, Y cheats on Z, the idiot with the camera is behind someone who completely ignores him, and so on... (what the hell is this? A soap opera!??! - and I assure you they stretch it out quite a bit). Furthermore, the ending (if it can even be called that) is truly, quoting the good old Fantozzi, a 'huge mess'... Objectively, I can’t bring myself to give it more than three stars: a real shame because the potential was there!
Colin & Greg Strause Alien vs. Predator 2: Requiem

@Vincent Valentine: last night I was really undecided whether to go see "Alien Vs Predator II" or "Cloverfield". - In the end, I opted for the latter, which I think (despite being a bit of a letdown) is passable. "Cloverfield" is the classic story of a sea monster emerging from the depths and destroying Manhattan. PRO: the footage shot in a style similar to "The Blair Witch Project" isn't bad, and the tension is high. CONS: the first 20 minutes are painfully boring, and the ending is crap. - You decide whether to go see it... anyway, reading the comments, I guess I was right to prefer it to "Alien Vs Predator II"!

Here it is, I've made it... finally, after "Act One," I have this as well. From my point of view, this album is definitely amazing, and therefore I assign it, without too many problems, the highest rating! I find it to be a significant step forward compared to the debut... especially regarding the vocal parts, which now fit perfectly with the music (in "Act One," on the other hand, the voice was very uneven compared to the music, almost making it seem like a foreign body!). The best tracks for me are the album opener "Time Machine" and its closer "The Fox." Excellent too are the light "I've No Idea" and, above all, the instrumental "Nimbus." Once again, I reaffirm the review score I gave in my previous comment!
Steve Lukather Candyman
Voto:
Just listened... but this is truly an exceptional record. There's some blues, a bit of jazz, almost progmetal atmospheres... all masterfully blended, as only a great like Lukather can do. - Absolutely the highest score for this album, and I reaffirm the rating for the review (see above).
