It's undoubtedly a special live performance... the quite extreme reinterpretation of numerous classics puts me in a rather difficult position: depending on my mood, sometimes I really enjoy it, other times not so much (right now, for example, I really like it!). --- One question: I have the original version... is the new mix from 2005 really a superior listening experience? The reduced number of overdubs will certainly increase the level of 'genuineness', but doesn't it lessen the overall power? I ask because I'm leaning towards making a purchase. --- @ZZot: I also agree that "Earthling" is a great album... along with the masterpiece "1.Outside", it represents the artistic awakening of the Duke after years of mediocre or completely terrible work.

I agree with JohnHolmes regarding the historical importance of this album. Some time ago, I would have given it the highest rating without thinking twice... today I would still give it a strong 'four stars', because it's still a decidedly successful record. For me, their best work is on "Love Over Gold".
Trey Parker & Matt Stone South Park - Una Scala per il Paradiso

I fully agree with comment #8 from NES, even though I would extend the unbeatable seasons of The Simpsons up to the ninth... maybe even the tenth, why not. - The highest rating and praise goes instead to the entire work of South Park which, in its 14 seasons (although I'm currently stuck at the 13th), has, at worst, 2/3 episodes that are below par per season. The others range from funny to brilliant.

Great page... rich and complete as always. The album you described here is top-notch, a worthy successor to "Trust" (in my opinion, one of the best from the band). The instrumental "Corkentellis" is a great showcase of technique. The other tracks are all of excellent quality... in my view, this "10,000 Days" really takes off in the concluding part: "Sound Advice," the title track, and "It Never Ends" are the gems of the album.

Great page, as always... the album seemed good to me, but I need to listen to it more closely to evaluate it definitively. We're getting closer to the excellent "Trust" (you've already reviewed that, right?) and the solid "10,000 Days"...

@PierPaolo: thanks for the appreciation. Unfortunately, I’m still far from omniscience, hehehe! As for the Saga post-"House Of Cards": I’m only familiar with "Trust" (great!) and "The Human Condition" (mediocre... and I’m not too convinced by Moratti as a substitute for Sadler). The rest I either haven't listened to yet or I’ve only heard too few times to make a definitive judgment.

I haven't listened to this yet... when I find it, I'll take care of it!

From "The Least..." to "Still Life," there is never a dip in tone: all albums are 10 out of 10. Extraordinary band, stratospheric discography, divine Hammill... I don’t think there’s anything else to add!

I stand corrected: the 3 CD version also includes more recent material.

@KACZYNSKI: I recommend "Epoch-Eclipse 30 Year Anthology." There's a single disc version, or the more comprehensive box set (3 CDs) with all their most famous tracks... from the beginning up to the mid-'80s.
