Saga Silent Knight
Voto:
Pier Paolo, speaking of semi-unknown bands... do you know the Prism? They’ve made some good AOR albums. Their formula is more straightforward compared to that of Saga, but they do share some elements in common (ample presence of keyboards, a '70s sci-fi sound, ...). If you’re interested and would like to explore further, their most well-known tracks are "Spaceship Superstar" and "Armageddon."

Well, well! Finally here, as I mentioned in my comment on your previous review, Saga takes a leap forward. The sound is very similar to the first two albums; however, the various elements are better blended: we can find excellent tracks like "Compromise," "Don't Be Late," and "Careful Where You Step." Also very enjoyable is the catchy "Someone Should."
Whitesnake Slide It In
Voto:
In my opinion, this album is exceptional… among the best in Whitesnake's discography: it’s a clever blend of what was (the early 'Hard & Blues' period) and what will come ("1987"). Among all the tracks, the extraordinary "Slow An' Easy" stands out. - Between the UK version (Moody/Galley) and the US version (Sykes/Galley), I prefer the English one: besides being the original, it feels rougher and more intense, and less polished compared to the American version.

Excellent review... thorough and rich in detail. The work seems great (serious, historical, concrete, and tragic themes), however my chronic aversion to reading will certainly not allow me to enjoy it one hundred percent.
Saga Images at Twilight

The comment I'm leaving you is practically similar to the one posted on your previous review: as usual, great page... rich and complete. The album, in my opinion, is the weakest of their golden period, 1978-1985. I note with great pleasure that you also find "It's Time" excellent (my favorite from this "Images At Twilight"). - I can't wait for your review of "Silent Knight," where you can already see a nice step forward in terms of songwriting quality...

@Fateswarning: try checking eBay... you can occasionally find great deals. For example, I once got "House Of Cards" (from 2001) for €4.99 including shipping. --- @Pier_Paolo: but was the version of "Heat Of The Moment" true to the original by Asia, or was it redone in the style of Saga?

Great proposal PierPaolo, sometimes we need someone to talk about this band that is so little known to us... am I wrong, or did you write the other review of Saga? As usual, the page is complete, well-written, and rich in information. However, personally, I find this album (along with the second "Images At Twilight") enjoyable but still slightly unripe. The sound of Saga, which seems like a fascinating tribute to sci-fi B-Movies, is already there... but the various elements are not yet blended optimally. Anyway, the rating would be a good 7/10.

Absolutely stunning album... one of the (many) masterpieces of the Crimson King!

You’re right, Skeleton... I mixed up the two albums. Good correction (and good reasoning about the compilations)!

Great debut album for this legendary band! More than good review... - @Skeleton: you're right, the remix of their early albums is quite jarring in its attempt to bring them into a perspective similar to "Eliminator"/"Afterburner." "Tres Hombres" and "Tejas" were released on CD, with the original mix, in 2006. I don't know what they're waiting for with the other three (since most of the songs are already included in the box set "Chrome, Smoke & BBQ").
