The band's name is the title of a Rolling Stones song. Nothing to do with Mick Jagger and the gang, just some good old rock with some interesting guitar riffs. Back then it seemed almost revolutionary; today it sounds like a load of nonsense. Neither good nor bad: decent.

A well-written review, too bad I don’t agree with a single word. This is a terrible album, recorded in a hurry with a nod to the young audience and the radio. Essentially, it's rubbish. "Baciami Alfredo" is an insult to music and its eternal value. Since the days of "Darwin!", a lot of water has passed under the bridges!

It's a debut, and James Taylor has always been quite good, not great. Anyway, musically it's passable, the lyrics are (almost) a delight. But, as I said, it's a debut.

Morningstar, the ones you mentioned are masterpieces (which I have already extensively reviewed), but this one also belongs to that category, "Oh Mercy" stands on the same level as "Bringing it all back home", in different times, one made history ("Bringing"), the other moved us ("Oh Mercy").

Venuti is good, not great, but he is definitely a notch above a myriad of supposed Italian singer-songwriters who only make the stones cry (a bold metaphor to say they suck). If he were just a bit less elaborate (not all the time, sometimes), he would be, in addition to being good, also very good.
