In simple words: I don’t argue about your musical tastes because they are what they are and they will remain so. I don’t have to defend anything at all, I don’t raise myself up as a champion of some beloved bullshit, for me there are good things that have inspired millions of bands, like RATM and Korn. If you don’t like them, that’s fine, but in a review, in my opinion, you make a poor impression and at least in that, show some objectivity: if you had just limited yourself to talking without expressing judgments, we wouldn’t be here discussing.

overkill sorry but when would you have argued? In the review? With those two lines? Or by citing those great bands a few comments ago? You said nothing.. as true as it is that the entire 90s scene drew from the great bands you mentioned, they too, the "big" ones, "extrapolated" something from their influences.. the compositional process hasn't changed over the decades.. I don't believe there haven't been detractors of Bitch Magnet or any other band just like you are about what you don't like.. it's a discussion that leads nowhere.. you argued that there are bands of greater substance among those on your list than among any of those you dislike?

overkill you’re going off the rails, reasoning as if you were a Celentano fan.. even for millions of people, the Jesus are anti-musical crap not worthy of being cataloged among their memorabilia.. do you get the concept? It's as if you hadn't said anything at all.. I don't really believe in anything but you seem so stunned by YOW's farts that he made fun of everyone as long as he could (and good for him).. wrong, you're completely off track.. I wish we could listen to music without wasting time, without cataloging under the same name neurosis and converge, callisto and cubre, you know what I mean? free your brain, take a couple of deep breaths, and listen without reading the magazines.. what you like you keep, on the contrary, you throw away.. because crap is everywhere, just like you say.. so it’s pointless to get so worked up about what you don’t like.. it’s the classic windmill battle.

ruben/overkill seriously, you write very well, there’s really no need for me to say it, and I like the lizards too, believe me, but you could have spared us those two lines.. sure, it’s easy to pick on something you think only appeals to some hardcore 16-year-old who just discovered them or to the idiots you know will never respond to you.. but there’s something good in it, trust me.. I don’t want to defend anything, I’m the first to take a lot away from that scene, but these pointless attacks from someone who writes about the lizards.. I don’t know.. damn prejudices.. but what if we listened without labeling? is it really impossible?

Honestly, if I hadn't read in the table what genre this record belonged to, I wouldn't have understood much... a review MUST be descriptive; at best, if it has been, it can ALSO be impressionistic. That doesn't change the fact that it's a nice piece of writing, but it certainly isn't a review.

"How many of the reviews on the right at this moment are essential or useful? Not many, huh?" I didn't get this sentence though... as far as I'm concerned, there are also quite a few useless and non-essential reviews on the left.

I miss something from the Devin Townsend Band... I guess I'll have to make up for it sooner or later.

I don't really think it's their best album.. back in the days of "bless the martyr.." they were the only ones with this kind of sound.. now the time isn't right for them either.. the scene is too saturated, and this album doesn't stray from the trend.. "quick" review

It's clear that there's effort behind it, but you've made too many mistakes in form... and you've gone on too long listing the pros and cons of practically each song like a shopping list... this bores the reader and doesn't encourage the simply curious person who doesn't know the band to finish reading.
