I can never tell whether the compliments you give me are sincere or just a joke...

absolutely not! You can’t call something classical music just because it doesn't have drums and bass!!!!! And just because the title says it's a piece in E-flat minor, do you think it’s classical music???? Please, let’s all educate ourselves (me included). Classical music is something entirely different. Malmsteen is not it at all. And just because a piece is called Fugue, Toccata, or something else, does it have to be classical music?
So tomorrow I’ll write a requiem, I’ll review it and put it in the "Classical Music" section... this doesn’t add up.... As for Ajeje, I completely agree with you. Malmsteen has made one decent album and then repeated himself endlessly, copying and rehashing endlessly. His phrasing was revolutionary in the 70s and 80s; now it’s flat, predictable, and sometimes annoying. As Blackmore said: "Malmsteen?... he would be good if he knew how to play slowly as well...."

My review is a bit brief and says little about the album because, I admit, I'm not deeply familiar with the style of Mr. Big, but this is the album that impressed me the most among theirs, so even being a bit ignorant about Mr. Big, I wanted to pay a tiny tribute to them.

PS: for those who don’t know or hate Dream Theater, staying on the topic of orchestras, in June-July the 20th-anniversary DVD will be released in which the DT play the aforementioned tracks with an orchestra:
Six degrees of Inner Turbulence (entirely)
Vacant
The Answer Lies Within
Sacrificed Sons
Octavarium
Metropolis
Maybe you weren't interested..but....

Anyway, I don't think it originates as a Guitar and Orchestra concert because we know very well that in that Live, Malmsteen performs his most famous tracks with orchestral support. So it seems to me that this is also a concert with the orchestra as a "backing." Although the level is more than good (not excellent to be honest).

My comparison wasn't about the two works but rather about the opinion this site gives to that concert with Malmsteen's orchestra. I know they are conceptually different. S&M is a different arrangement, while the orchestra in Malmsteen is an element of the overall composition. But I cannot accept, in my opinion, that it is categorized under the "Classical" genre. Because it isn't. That's all.

Look: let's not confuse the concert with the orchestra with classical music... please, let’s not blaspheme... so would S&M also be classical music???

Dear IO, I would like to say something elegant, as you have naturally shown not to be. I apologize to everyone if I made any grammatical mistakes, but writing quickly on the keyboard and spontaneously (because I never write in "rough draft") can lead to some smudges. I don't believe I am ignorant because I thought my question about stilnovo was more of a joke than a compliment; the fact that I vote for myself is because I am aware of having done a good job despite my tastes being different from yours and despite the mistakes that could have been avoided—I admit that. I won't confess what I'm thinking about you because I am polite, unlike you.

Only on the last album, the sounds are a bit cleaner, mainly due to the sovereign hand of Rick Rubin, who let's face it, can sniff out money better than anyone else (for your information, he’s mixing the next Metallica album).
