Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

Yes, that one during the Six Degrees tour, when his amp broke. He actually played two of his pieces; at the time, Suspended Animation hadn't been released yet. He played Glasgow Kiss and I think Damage Control. Petrucci said something totally ridiculous that day: he basically said that the most demanding album for him to play was Six Degrees... I don't really believe that... in my opinion, the most demanding album is actually Scenes... anyway, he showed incredible professionalism when he repaired the Mesa Boogie head by himself... great... easy... Petrucci is a true professional... believe me.

As an absurd lover of DT, I appreciate your review, but I don't quite understand (especially since I haven't read all the posts... there are too many) why you want to tear them apart. I don't think those who criticize them are hypocrites, as Cliffburton86 mentioned in the review of A Change of Seasons. I believe, of course, that this "hate" is the result of a just cause, but yours seems more like a relentless crusade. Have you perhaps become the messiah of the Anti-DT?

easycure...my God, sometimes I think about what you say about DT and I laugh, not at you, but at your obsessive aversion to them. Returning to the idea of composing like the DT, sorry but I don't believe any of us could manage it. Remember well that, no matter how much you might dislike them, Petrucci studied at Berkley in Boston and having been to one of his seminars years ago, I can assure you (feel free to think differently, of course) that acquiring his theoretical knowledge is really tough—not impossible, but it requires a lot of studying. Then I want to ask you a question: what sense did it make for you to review an album you don’t like? I believe, at least in my opinion, that one should review either something they love, or something just to denigrate it, or to express their hatred-averseness-disgust toward that thing. I remind you that anyway, DT are a source of inspiration for a myriad of today's bands...so they certainly had something to say and continue to have it. As for valid bands, I reviewed Sun Caged, then I mean, in the prog realm there are great ones like Shadow Gallery, but especially the overlooked Threshold.

Cradle Of Filth Bitter Suites To Succubi
Voto:
First: Cradle of Filth are not Black Metal, or at least they aren't anymore; they haven't done black since Dusk... which is more extreme gothic than true black, perhaps symphonic black, but for me, this isn't black (sorry for the repetition).
Second: Nic Barker left the band after 1998, so I record their masterpiece, Cruelty & The Beast, and after that crap of an EP, From the Cradle to Enslave, he was replaced by the equally talented Adrian Erlandsson, former At The Gates.
3) This is not really an album at all, because it contains reinterpretations of milestones from their discography with unpublished tracks; it's more of a collection of unreleased material, in fact. And it's not the most symphonic; the most symphonic is the other beautiful Damnation & a Day. After Damnation, we can say they died and sold out badly.

If you really want to know, Dream Theater have covered the historic live album by Deep Purple: "Made in Japan," which is not available in bootleg version; I don't know if they recorded it.
