They may not be top-notch instrumentalists, but saying they aren't even valid seems a bit excessive. Before forming the Eagles, GLENN FREY (Detroit, Michigan, 1948) already had a collaboration (when he was still in Detroit) with Bob Seger (as a guitarist and backing vocalist on the famous “Ramblin Gamblin Man”) in 1968 and with John Donald Souther in Longbranch Pennywhistle the following year (having meanwhile moved to Los Angeles in 1969). DON HENLEY (Gilmer, Texas, 1946) was part of the Texan band Shiloh: he may not be a powerhouse drummer, but he’s a great vocalist, and isn’t the voice an instrument?

But if you mean literally from left to right, then it’s actually the second to last: in short, it’s the tallest of them all. Have we joked enough?

I stand corrected: it’s Allen Collins, the last one; unfortunately, age is taking its toll.

And anyway, "farro," on the cover Gary Rossington is, from left to right, the last one.

So, you know those guys on the cover... good for you! Of course, among the 7, Al Kooper couldn't be there because they are all just over twenty. Wilkeson began collaborating on that album and then officially joined the lineup just in time to pose on the cover. Well! Maybe you’re not as clueless as I thought... I’ve met and appreciated a certain Robert Nix from the Atlanta Rhythm Section, but I don’t know if it's him you’re referring to... smart aleck.

Even more likely, you've been misled by the 7 members on the cover of the album: actually, among the seven is that Al Cooper whom you rightly mention as the producer, but under the pseudonym (Roosevelt Gook) he plays the organ in the beautiful ballad "Simple Man" (which you don't mention) and in the much-lauded "Free Bird" (where the guitars are two), as well as even the bass and Mellotron in "Tuesday's Gone" (for this occasion, Robert Nix plays the drums instead of the official drummer Bob Burns). When you say to others phrases like: "You want to dig deeper but then you don't feel like studying... just forget it or write more instinctive reviews, with your heart... try to GET INTO what you love, without just parroting data... or let yourself go and just share your feelings, damn it, like many do perfectly well!" you should simply look in the mirror...

Imprecise and Laconic Review. In this 1973 album, the stable guitarists are not yet three: rather, Ed King, in addition to playing bass, will occasionally dabble on guitar: see the demo of "Mr. Banker" for an example. Starting from the next work, Lynyrd will recruit Leon Wilkeson on bass, and King will become the third guitarist of the band permanently (since you mentioned Collins' Gibson Firebird, Ed King will play on the Fender Stratocaster while Rossington remains loyal to his Gibson Les Paul), only to be replaced by the talented and unfortunate Steve Gaines (I don't know if you've ever listened to "I Know A Little"). You’ve probably seen some concerts where there were already three axes, or maybe you've listened to the live version of Free Bird from 1976 (when Gaines had already replaced King): if you were less arrogant, I would forgive you.

I hope you’re not religious because you’re swearing falsely: if you manage to get the very first Eagles concert in London (where this album was also recorded, like for Jimi Hendrix), you’ll realize that it’s Bernie Leadon singing Peaceful. Frey will make it his own in the "famous" subsequent concerts after Leadon’s departure (1975). As for the rest, I’ll leave it alone, limiting myself to responding that you wanted to act like a smartass but you really don’t know anything. I don’t call strangers who are a bit overly confident, anyway. After all, arrogance often accompanies ignorance: I wonder why?

At that time, Brian Adams was not just making ballads like he does now: you should get and listen to "Reckless," which I consider his best album. Enthusiasm and courage alone are not enough: if you decide to publish something, you need to be more careful. I won't add anything else. I give you a 3 to encourage you. The album is good, but 5 is deserved by the classics of the 70s when the glam of Kiss was all the rage (not by chance).
