Don Giovanni puts me to sleep; meanwhile, those you consider inferior (AH AH AH) — Verdi, Rossini, and Wagner — are distinctly better in opera. Wagner's Tristan or Siegfried, Verdi's La Traviata, Il Trovatore, Otello, and Rigoletto, Rossini's Guglielmo Tell, La Cenerentola, and L'Italiana in Algeri – no! I like The Magic Flute, but Mozart excelled in other areas. Verdi and Wagner in opera are definitely superior, there you go!
