In my opinion, The world that we drive through is better, and anyway Roine Stolt should be remembered more as a guitarist and composer of many of the songs of the great Kaipa (those from the early 70s) :-)
Beach House Thank Your Lucky Stars

The piece is nice but "Inget nyt under solen," as the Kaipa say :-)

I have come to the conclusion that, taken individually, the single Genesis (I’m referring to those from the Gabriel era) produced very little beauty compared to the enormous beauty of the things created by the band as a whole. It was truly an alchemy that went beyond the value of the individuals, at least on a creative level.

I feel less alone on this page filled with several fifty-somethings (or thereabouts), starting with the author, who have recently lost one of their parents (I have lost both of mine not long ago) or who nonetheless miss them dearly... Great review. I liked the song a lot even as a kid, even though I found it "strange."

Look, for the absolutely brilliant definition of cars as "colorful microwave ovens with air conditioning" and the synesthesia of "simple melodies ... smell of green and blue" appealing to the three senses of hearing, sight, and smell, you have earned my admiration. Too bad that probably this album, if I understood correctly what you said in the past, you won't listen to it anymore; who knows, you might have still come up with something :-)
Caravan If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You

Really beautiful review. If I didn't already have the album, I would run out to buy it because I find your description magnificent. The Caravan are truly evocative, as are the Hatfield and the North; when I listen to the first album, I'm automatically transported to a late afternoon inside a house immersed in the English countryside of the early 70s. I can almost hear the sounds of the surroundings and the pouring of tea into cups.

Thinking about it, it really reminds me of the story of the pianist on the ocean (from the movie) who refuses to persist in putting on vinyl the music that came to him in a unique and unrepeatable moment.
