Vinicio Capossela All'una e trentacinque circa
Voto:
Well, let’s not destroy him too much, poor great VC. OK, he has never really hidden his influences. As for Tom Waits, indeed certain songs, but only in the Danse Macabre, are on the verge of plagiarism of the great Tom. But also certain songs of the great Tom, especially in Bone Machine, are on the edge of plagiarism of Captain Beefheart (more than once cited by Waits as one of his masters). And in my opinion, in the latest Waits, there’s also something from the latest Capossela ("Con una Rosa" vs "Trampled Rose"). Waits. In short, for me, it’s a chain of exchanges of ideas and inspiration among greats. P.S. Is Marc Ribot, who collaborates with both, involved in any way??

Well, from the latest comments I don't feel as alone in my judgment. Nothing soporific is the right word for this album. As mentioned in one of the now numerous reviews of this album, it seems that Sigur Ros has recently become a trend and they particularly appeal to people who are liked. Maybe I am not liked!!!
The Beatles The White Album

This album has a record-breaking song, "Happiness is a Warm Gun." Can you believe that two of its different sections can be found verbatim within the following songs:
1) Maximum Dream of Evil Knievel, by the Flaming Lips
2) Ours, I'm a Monster
Incredible!!!

Sorry, I know I might seem blasphemous. But I, uh, don't know how to say it. Well, I'll give it a try. This album is a boring monument to nothing!! I said it, I'm sorry. I hope to change my mind someday. Bye

Oh dear, here we go again. Unfortunately, it has happened in the past that someone fell into a misunderstanding. I, Zaireeka, am not a blonde with blue eyes and blonde hair!! I am, in fact, male!!! For those who didn’t know (Socrates among them), my nickname refers to an album by the Flaming Lips that I reviewed some time ago (very poorly). From today on, I will be called Zaireeko!!! As for the review, it’s great, but I would have written it differently.

Paul McCartney Chaos And Creation In The Backyard
Voto:
Let's put it this way: Pet Sounds is on par with the best works of the Beatles, Smile (the central part) even surpasses the best of the Beatles, and the rest of the Beach Boys' output is usually inferior to that of the Beatles, but with some exceptions. Anyway, here and there even in the ultra-commercial and "barbaric" period of the BB, there are extraordinary songs (e.g. The Warmth of the Sun and others).

In case it was misunderstood, for me Paul McCartney is a great one. And I agree that in terms of continuity, he has been more significant than Wilson. However, Macca (like no one else in pop music) has NOT been able to write anything that comes close to the central part of Smile in terms of complexity and genius. A true musical cathedral. PS I've listened to Caos quite a few times. Really a great record.

Socrates, I was really trying, but it feels like a hopeless task. In the case of Smile, the central part, more than in any other, the adage "you cannot express it in words" holds true.
