I don't know why, but when I first listened to Invitation To The Blues, it felt like I recognized the song that, in those gardens of childhood/ adolescence that are now dust (I quote Borges poorly), made me fall in love with music.

And where do we place Kung-Fu-Fighting???
Zucchero Miserere
Voto:
A strange album, post-hangover. Back to reality, and as such quite honest. I think Zucchero is a pretty simple and genuine person, especially because of his peasant origins. And this despite everything that has been built around him. That sometimes he makes big mistakes. I remember, during a concert in '92, when he recalled with resentment a guy who, at the end of one of his very first concerts, had locked him in the dressing room as a joke!! I don’t know how many would have had the courage to recount such humiliation once they reached the peak of their popularity.

The review, I must admit, amused me in some parts, truly. But don't exaggerate. What I want to say, Punisher, is that maybe it's time for you to step out of your character as well...

Primiballi, sorry, what does Canzoni a Manovella have to do with Frank's Wild Years?? Can you draw a parallel between the two songs? Canzoni a Manovella is the album that is least influenced by Tom Waits.
Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

Great album. The melodic/harmonic sense of Elton John is something that only a few possess. Clearly, among his vast body of work, there are also some scandalous things he should be ashamed to have authored.

No, dear Punisher, absolutely not. Because not all "junkies, drunks, or slackers" are clearly great artists (sorry, but what does being a slacker have to do with being a junkie or a drunk?). We need to make a distinction. Clearly, and I truly believe this, great art is born almost solely and exclusively from deep personal distress, from the aspiration to the absolute and the desire for eternity that cannot be fulfilled. And sometimes, people try to satisfy it through the wrong means, with substitutes for eternity.

Punisher, what I wanted to say is that for me being great artists (not necessarily referring to Capossela, whom I consider "rather" so) means, unfortunately for them, not being too normal. Let me mention two or three names at random: Syd Barrett, Dylan Thomas, Nick Drake.

As for the comment from an evangelist preacher type character like Abbie Poe (see "And the donkey saw the angel" by Nick Cave) from The Punisher, I hear that Gigi D'Alessio doesn't drink a drop. Maybe he should!!!
