"the innate cosmic rage that twists in a troubled eight-minute ride, culminating in the cathartic and now-famous twenty-seven-second roar of the tiger, whose voice is more complex and immense than ever." Too much stuff, you know? Let us listen to that roar, don’t overdo the emphasis; anyway, you don’t even vaguely convey the idea. Forgive the polemical stance, maybe because I’ve loved Tool since their beginnings, and it kind of gets on my nerves hearing the buzz that this masterpiece is the one, and not Undertow, not Aenima. It’s like talking about the wonders of Californication by the Red Hot Mtv Chili Peppers, forgetting that history was made long before that. You know Flood? Undertow, track 9. Fibonacci wasn’t there.

Here's the debaser we want, not the 15 school reviews on The dark side of the moon!
I will buy this record.

I've been listening to Tool like a madman since the days of Opiate (do you remember??), and my 2 is provocative; it's a great album, I repeat, but far inferior to the previous ones. Lateralus is more pandering, more aperfectcircle. Aenema, on the other hand, is a devastating and apocalyptic album, THE Tool album without a doubt. As for Undertow, well, let's not joke with fire; listen to a bit of Schism and then Sober, Triad and then Flood.

I don't think it's a good idea to stretch the review out; rather, describing each song one by one feels a bit pedantic, almost as if trying to replace the listening experience. With a Tool album, it seems like an even worse idea. It's a great album, definitely not a 5, unless you're also giving a 10 to Undertow and a 17 to Aenema. The feeling is that our guys have already said everything, and the influences from things like aperfectcircle have tainted the ideas of an iconic band. That said, I'll definitely be at the Italian tour, regardless.

The review seems pompous and redundant to me; as for the album, the first 30 seconds of Aenima are worth far more than all of Lateralus. Fibonacci or not, a piece like Schism doesn't do justice to Tool, and when it comes to anger, the one in Bottom strikes me as much more genuine.

The review is ridiculous, the album is not the best by Tool. Definitely not.

The review doesn't seem bad to me; the issue is that it's hard to say anything about wonders like Ludovico's seventh without running the risk of saying much less than one should. What troubles me the most is the third movement, with that infinite note that begins after a minute and a half and culminates, after going through everything, in absolute delirium. It should be listened to, therapeutically, at a preferably high volume.

Oh my God, don't take it the wrong way, but records like this deserve more suitable reviews. This album touches the strings that angels play; I think that needed to be said with more fervor. And a bit more passion about Flamenco Sketch(es) wouldn't have hurt either; let's not forget that Coltrane's solo is one of the most beautiful things ever narrated by man.
