Sam Mendes American Beauty

I liked it, especially the crescendo from sitcom to tragedy. As for the social purposes or the novelty/validity of the critique aimed at American society (which, in my opinion, is in the background without being too intrusive and does not constitute the "ratio" of the film at all), I won't comment, because, frankly, I couldn't care less.

Damn, you're basically making an anthology of reviews on Woody Allen. As far as I understand, this is one of the best, so I'll make sure to grab it then.
Quentin Tarantino Le Iene

Damn, how disgusting the initial dialogue is translated into Italian... for the rest, what a movie! and especially "Why am I mister pink?"

Banfi and company have been reassessed for the same reason that this film might be reevaluated. Banfi and co. were comedies, and they made people laugh. This is a horror film, and it really sucks (at least for me and for those I know who have seen it; I don't know if we're all scaredy-cats here in the Saronno area;-)

Well, I don't know happy! The point is that in a horror film, the special effects or, more than anything, the ability of the images to feel real and "plausible" is certainly not a secondary factor. Now, the original seems to lack that tension - given by the power of the images - that the American version creates. Then you know I'm not a big film expert, but this film, seen in the cinema, scared the hell out of me.

But then think of the coincidences, on Friday I ended up by pure chance on Bisius's review of Allevi, the one where the brawl broke out, and today I find myself on this review where Bisius makes his return... anyway, this whole Bisius story for a distracted and "young" user (meaning they’ve only been here for about a year, not in the chronological sense!) is a real mystery. Let me understand, Bis, if you're still around these parts, birbabirba (who I think was that girl who wrote with all the k's) was a fake you created?

Ahhhh, too long for a Monday morning, and I don’t like this semi-crazy humor... The movie, excuse me, is a horror with serious chops; I bet it will be reevaluated in the future when the repulsion towards "commercial and successful films" fades among the commentators. Honestly, the original Japanese doesn’t hold a candle, even though it deserves credit for having created the concept and the image of Samantha, which, whether we like it or not, we will all remember even in 20 years.

I don't understand much about cinema, but in Woody Allen I don't feel the genius either, it's just a feeling...
