No, look, Vai is very exciting (not always, but often) and this album is proof of that...

Despite a few minor mistakes, this review is award-winning journalism! :-)

-the solos aren’t that they suck... it’s just that in some songs they are useless or they could have been less flashy but more "spirited"- but are we talking about the same review??????
AA.VV. A Clockwork Orange / Music from the Soundtrack

Indeed, soundtracks are certainly not "B-movie music" (after all, every great film worth its salt has an exquisite soundtrack! However, I find that in the film, the overture by Rossini "la gazza ladra" (probably known in English as Thieving Magpie) by Beethoven played a significant role...simply because while the former set the scene for the atrocities committed by the "drughi," the latter highlighted the "deviated" philosophy of the protagonist (after all, certain movements of the symphony have been, as you wrote, "reworked" and even remixed in at least an unusual manner....

This album is pure and great ROCK. I wouldn't say it's power at all, at most epic (mainly due to the lyrics...)

Come on, how can one say that he's better than Hendrix and Page? They are guitarists who do different genres and have different "horizons."
Pink Floyd The Division Bell

I consider this one of the best albums by Pink, it's definitely less "psychedelic" than their earlier works, but it contains some truly great songs! I don't see it as a monster made from scraps, but as an entity endowed with (genuine) life. Gilmour is magnificent here too, far from empty solos! High Hopes is one of the most beautiful songs by Pink. They have made much better albums, to be clear (Atom Heart Mother above all), but this album remains a masterpiece nonetheless.
