Instead of creating false images for themselves, today's Christians should follow the truth of the Bible, not that of their prejudices...

Yes, I know it happens like that, but it's nonsense because the truth is one and cannot change over the centuries!

@Sanjuro: the belief that everything in nature can be reduced to the deterministic paradigm has fallen long ago with the crisis in physics at the beginning of the last century. I recommend you do a bit of philosophy; who knows, you might reconsider..

@dEDOLUZ: Yes, but culture should not influence religious experience (as far as Christianity is concerned, it should actually happen quite the opposite since, as mentioned, it is a very totalitarian religion).

Devon, I’m puzzled about that... it makes me think that when it says "his image and likeness," it means "as rational beings similar to him." However, I’m not informed about this; it's just my impression :-) But excuse me, where does it say that you have to imagine it? After all, it's impossible!

I remember that Descartes had relied on our imperfection to prove the existence of God... we are all too aware of our imperfections; to realize this, we must inevitably refer to an idea of perfection (with which we compare ourselves) that, however, cannot be produced by ourselves (since we are, after all, imperfect...)... so where can this idea come from if not from GOD?

It's a pity that God is not a person with experience, life lived, and wisdom... connecting Him to a human being, no matter how noble, is wrong (I would say it's a blasphemy...)
