Doll, Petrucci is technically infallible. But he doesn’t know how to write music; what comes out are cold, hyper-technical things with no head or tail; technique is not art, it is rather a means to EXPRESS it. Just technique is not art, it is not music. In my opinion, Petrucci lacks art, and since music for me is art, his is crap. Solo album included, only "glasgow kiss" stands out, but nothing exceptional even that. The rest is an attempt to pose as a prog fusion guitarist, without knowing how to do it. Then, okay, he’s super fast, but who cares, if he’s that fast he should challenge that dude Michael Angelo.
