I'm listening to the album for the first time right now and it's totally twisted, brilliant: I'd say it's a return to the maniacal brutality of their early days, after the softening of the do-gooder strings in "ballads for little hyenas." The review is an unnecessary, idiotic, and gratuitous invective: by the second paragraph you realize you must not have understood much about the album, or the band either. As for the others, Agnelli is annoying to me too; it's obvious that someone like him can be smug, arrogant, and presumptuous: but, as someone else has already said, his personality is not the yardstick to judge the album. Caz, you who criticize him so much, know that his arrogance and presumption are nothing compared to yours. I haven't rated the album yet.

I would like to know how it was possible to mix Dire Straits with Elisa, The Cranberries, and Carmen Consoli. It's a sci-fi idea, to say the least. The breeze is one of luck, not of fresh air: and how it can also be commercial and serve as a concept is mind-boggling to me... it’s truly a new and poignant glimpse into the landscapes of pop, even though I wonder how it can be pop if they have something akin to Dire Straits: but perhaps, since it's also layered, there’s more to dig into. But all this reminds me of one thing: from how you describe it, “this album is like a fruit salad with grapes, pieces of wood, carrots, and steaks,” and that’s precisely where “the goodness of the project resides.” It’s unclear how Anna’s voice could waste time admiring herself in the mirror: what is she doing, putting on makeup too?

I haven't listened to it and I don't plan to, but the discography of Whitesnake is worth a 1 for me from start to finish... mediocre hard rock, a tattered photocopy of the ultimate stereotype... And I'm giving it a 1 because Coverdale is always a guarantee of artistic quality, which is none... whether it’s in the Firm with Page or in Deep Purple ruining them, always and forever a 1.
