Uriah Heep Come Away Melinda: The Ballads
Voto:
4, a mix of the sadness of collections like this and the pieces of the madonna it contains. "Circle of hands" is one of the most beautiful songs ever, brings tears.

Anyway, a great album (even though "Misplaced Childhood" is superior to it, in my opinion).

Bah, "Firth of Fifth" is a masterpiece because played by Genesis, what does it have to do with it? "Man-erg" in the hands of Gabriel & co. might be laughable. Anyway, I agree with XBend: maximum respect for Van der Graaf Generator ("Pawn Hearts" is masterful), King Crimson (the debut and "Red" are terrifying) and Canterbury as a whole (a note of glorious merit for the grayish land), but if I have to think about the emotions that progressive music gives me, then I think of Emerson, Lake & Palmer (welcome back, my friends...), I think of Genesis (and when I almost cry at the end of "Supper's Ready"), and above all I think of the legendary Yes (but can we talk about "Tales"?). De gustibus, even if buses often smell.

I too, perhaps, prefer "Foxtrot," but who cares! "The battle of Epping Forest" is a great piece, even if it's not the peak of the album, which is probably "Firth of Fifth."

Great review. I still know very little about Uriah Heep post-great-albums-from-the-early-se venties, but I want to remedy that.

Thank you, it’s a review that means a lot to me. ;-)

Stunning; I loved it. I was almost crying in the cinema, definitely the most beautiful film I've seen lately. The review is great too. The scene mentioned by Vivis is wonderful and is moreover emphasized by the stunning "Elegy for Dunkirk" (as I mentioned in my review of the soundtrack). I think Keira Knightley is a really good actress, very expressive in her face, whether she has to sulk or she bursts out with her disarming smile (see "Pride and Prejudice" - beautiful as well - in both cases); and then I love her, what can I say... ;-)
Angelo Branduardi L'Infinitamente Piccolo
Voto:
Beautiful; too bad you already thought of it because I would have gladly written it myself. Branduardi is great, there's no denying that (in fact, I need to dig deeper and listen to his works that I still haven't explored). This album is beautiful, that's for sure: some tracks are of exquisite craftsmanship ("Il cantico delle creature," "Salmo"), a reprise of winning instrumental choices (the ending of "La predica della perfetta letizia" makes me think of that of the masterpiece "Ninna nanna"), well-chosen elements (the choir of "Audite poverelle"). If I have to find a flaw, and maybe I’m out of line (but it’s highly enjoyable), the percussion of "Il sultano di Babilonia e la prostituta" (it could definitely break through in a nightclub, I’m not joking - not that it’s a good thing, you know), I really don’t find the pseudo-stunz stunz of "La regola" with those provincial DJ rolls to be fitting, although it is compensated by a spine-tingling organ. Clearly, it’s just a hair in a wonderful egg.

Clearly, "Lady in Black" is among THE ballads of all time. Brilliant. Wonderful.
