Beautiful review. I didn't know either the director or the film (which I don't think I would actually enjoy, except for her, of course), nor, even more so, Soledad Miranda: it's striking to know that (unfortunately) she will remain that way forever, perfect.

I won't rate it, it's better this way, the review. The film? I'm incredibly biased, I love Star Wars. And then in this film, the most beautiful woman in the world made her debut! ;-)

I don't even dare to comment on the definitions of Pope John Paul II, and I won’t, for I have enormous respect for him. The film is excessive and violent, of course; it was made for that purpose. Don’t the gospels talk about that? No, THOSE gospels don’t talk about it; they are in the Bible for that reason, after all. I enjoyed it a lot, and I am a Catholic, NOT a bigot as previously mentioned, but sufficiently believing. As for Gibson, he is a great actor but always plays the same character; as a director, this and "Apocalypto" are blockbuster films. I apologize for the tone; I obviously have nothing against anyone, but think that (especially on sensitive topics like religion and politics) there’s always someone who thinks differently, without being a monster because of it. Take care.

Not a masterpiece, but a great movie; certainly on the edge of believability. However, it's worth watching. DiCaprio is an excellent actor, I agree.

I haven't seen it, just like I haven't seen Babel (so I can't confirm the rumors of "scripted writing"... assuming I understand what that means!). Great review, anyway. I actually thought the film was about drugs, given the title... ;-)
