Psychopompe, you hit the mark. The fact is that I now take it for granted that every musical proposal is, in one way or another, in line with market logic, whether it’s rebellious or not. Paradoxically, we should blame Malcolm McLaren, or perhaps even Elvis Presley: wasn’t his ā€œnonconformistā€ image in the ’50s carefully crafted? But that doesn’t mean that if a record is enjoyable and conveys something, it’s right to trash it a priori. Do you really believe that Avril Lavigne is more "pretentious" and "artificial" than Brody Armstrong? Even the Butthole Surfers have made "accessible" records. Regarding the reviews: it’s not that I’ve already written them; they are just ideas I have in mind. Of course, the backlog of my recent reviews is due to the fact that the site hadn’t been updated for a long time: that’s why they all came out at once. For now, I’ve only written two new ones; when they are published, I will write the others.

Nick, what can I say, I understand your point of view. But I believe that Avril Lavigne has personality, she has grit, and she can improve a lot. I repeat, Morrissette at her age was making soul/dance albums worse than Kylie Minogue (who has indeed produced more than just a couple of good songs).
Another one of those albums that I will attack (but I promise in a completely different way than for Buckley) is "Vitalogy" by Pearl Jam and the Unplugged by Nirvana. But I promise to be thorough.

I could respond more politely, but maybe this way it's more impactful: so Buckley and the Battleship Potemkin can go screw themselves!!!!! :D now I understand why you like this album...

For The Silent Man: honestly, I didn't grasp the meaning of your critiques. Read my other reviews.
As for IO: well, actually Lavigne is a very pretty girl... but her songs are still enjoyable to listen to.
Let me understand: if "toxic" had been made by Pizzicato Five instead of Britney Spears, wouldn't it have been judged as a gem?

Heron, if you write a review about Oasis saying they're a bunch of farts, and that anyone who listens to them is also a fart, I’m not going to call you crazy. You’d definitely be unoriginal, because bashing Oasis has been the favorite sport of the music press for a few years now, but in any case, I don’t see why I should call you stupid or ignorant. Simply put, you come from a different planet than mine. What the hell, do we all have to be the same?!?

People are afraid to speak ill of albums like "Grace," as if criticizing it would automatically mean you're not "sophisticated" enough to appreciate (or understand) its marvels. I am not ashamed of how I might appear, and I simply wanted to state that this is an album that, in my opinion, has nothing special about it. The entire world could throw up on me, but what mattered to me was having the opportunity to demystify it once and for all and feel free of a weight I've carried for years, with thousands (billions) of people who have driven me crazy with this damn "Grace." That and the fucking Pearl Jam (sure, that one's a bit gratuitous, but it fits well). Writing this review has been a liberation for me... a bit like when Fantozzi tells the company film club the historic line "LA CORAZZATA POTEMKIN E' UNA CAGATA PAZZESCA!!!" These are things that make you feel good :D

Kosmo, you're flattering me!! :) Your style is unique and inimitable, and I can't compete at your level. That's why a compliment from you is worth a lot. Alright, enough of this before it turns into a feast and wine :D thank you again for the kind words you share.
X James Keen: no hard feelings, you didn't bore me.
I understand that despite everything, Avril Lavigne's album might suck... I could understand the reasons.
But at the same time, I know plenty of people who judge "The Dark Side Of The Moon" to be an awful album... and even in this case, you can guess the reasons!!
It's a long discussion, I promise to write about it in the future.
