Deicide Serpents Of The Light

I respond to Eneathedevil and those few (very few) others deserving of my respect: therefore, the intent of this review was certainly not to provoke; only a fool could see it that way. Writing a review of a death metal album on a site like this almost always leads to controversies related to the reviewer’s enthusiasm for the themes addressed by those bands and the sonic violence of the music. In this case, however, I completely took the opposite side, trying to tone down the heightened emotions that can arise when discussing a group like Deicide, and almost elevating some aspects that may likely be misinterpreted. Thus, my work could not possibly conform to those metal reviews full of "YOHAAA! THIS SONG ROCKS! SATAN REIGNS!" that plague this site; rather, it had to take a very different direction. And I believe I achieved this goal.

This typically Italian obsession of stirring controversy over everything, of resorting to insults and threats, even for music. It's already seen in football, with people insulting each other for supporting different teams, and now even with music over stupid things like "you're an asshole for giving a 4 to Robbie Williams." How annoyingly Italian you all are. What a mess, it’s no coincidence that one of the people I get along with best is Kosmogabri, who is Swiss... you’re not capable of seriously discussing music, let alone talking about it with me!

I’ll call you whatever I want since you’ve shown from the beginning that you don’t deserve a “civil” dialogue with me, telling me to screw off. Tough luck for you. I explained in detail every reason related to my review and articulated my claims impeccably. It’s up to you to put in the effort to read my comments and clear up your rather confused ideas. If you want to keep talking to yourself, go ahead, talk, talk—who cares?

Forget the stories, my reviews should be read for a fee, like through a dialer, so maybe I could avoid the hassle of reading crap from poor misfits...

Oh, how much of idiots are you? People who insult me but then write "the important thing is to have a broad culture without being snobbish," when I am the LIVING proof of this concept, and I'm the only one on Debaser. I repeat, you need to wash your mouths out before arguing with me, you bunch of idiots. Do you really think I care about the malicious opinion of you beasts? I am Francis, and who the hell are you? Farts!

Sure. It makes me laugh when people like Copernico write things like "there cannot be any dialogue other than the aesthetic one as far as I'm concerned regarding you" or "Here the reputation of the site is at stake." Then you go and see the albums he has reviewed, and you find that he wrote a review about A-HA!! A-HA, those very ones (giving them 3 stars), and then he talks shit about me for writing one about Robbie Williams, making (nonsensical) comparisons with Donald Fagen? But, with all due respect, CAN YOU JUST FUCK OFF?? Oooh, let me say it this one time.

"and then you claim that RW is the one who ideally continues the legacy of Cohen," I absolutely did not write this. I said that Williams "plays" at being Leonard Cohen, paying homage to him in some tracks... where is the nonsense? He has done covers of Frank Sinatra, why would it be surprising if he also took a shot at Cohen? Where is it written? While I'm at it, I also add that at certain moments in the album, Williams even reminds me of Scott Walker (perhaps due to Duffy's influence; I doubt Guy Chambers knew who Scott Walker is).

I didn't say that RW is a great composer, but that he is a great artist. Those are two different things. And then read carefully, a few lines down I write "He has made an art of himself, for better or for worse." Damn, it's fine if you don't listen to the album, but what does it cost you to read the review properly? :)

Lukin, I don't think it's a matter of different worlds, because we're still talking about the same seven fucking notes... I'm asking you to at least listen to 2-3 tracks (recommendation: King Of Bloke & Bird, Your Gay Friend, The Trouble With Me), and then let me know what you think.

Eneathedevil is one of the examples why I keep writing on Debaser...here's the thing: if I were really an egocentric jerk, I wouldn't care about other people's opinions, and instead, I write precisely because I need and take great pleasure in comparing my ideas with users like him, or like Kosmogabri...even if on some occasions divergences may arise.
