Look, they have humility. If you pay attention, they only attack the puppets of showbiz because they know those icons are just like them; they have that objectivity. They know they are fleeting and temporary; I've heard them prostrate themselves before real legends and true artists. They are part of a circus, as you rightly said; they know they are just clowns, but damn if they amuse me. However, this awareness of belonging to a big spectacle is missing in many "saviors of rock." Look, these guys have nothing pretentious about them.
On the contrary, I must correct you. In the last two months, they have gone after Radiohead (who don't make music representative of the era we live in), The Cure (who have ruined rock), David Bowie, in addition to other less important bands: Placebo, Starsailor, Oasis (and maybe here they can even earn my sympathy). If they want to make silly and carefree music, let them do it, but at least don't pass it off as serious music.

Actually, I think the best is kidA... anyway, I didn't quite understand your first comment. I liked the album (for me, 3 is a passing grade) despite my initial skepticism. If it doesn’t remind you of Radiohead, I can't do anything about it... for me, the comparison is more than consolidated by listening to the album.

I know they don't present themselves as saviors of rock (that would be too much... maybe as saviors of the circus)... honestly, it makes me smile much more to listen to a good album; if I want to hear something funny, I listen to something else. You’ve said it well, humility... that’s what they lack.

x humax4: look, I’ve consumed both of these albums and I think I know them.....probably it’s just a feeling, but there are some sounds that remind me of The Bends, and then, Martin himself said he listens to Radiohead a lot...he probably did it unconsciously, but the fact is that some things (many) seem taken from The Bends (for me definitely not the best album by Radiohead....Kid A-Amnesiac above all).
