Sincere congratulations for the very well-crafted review and for the choice of the album, which is definitely one of the best by the band! I have a particular fondness for Innuendo, but this is a live album and showcases the band at its golden period perfectly!

By the way, it's absolutely true Vinsex, Malmsteen's alter ego in vocals is definitely Dave Lee Roth, there's no doubt about it!

Thank you Marco really, Sanjuro (I truly appreciated that you gave a rating despite not being a fan of the genre) and Vinsex, you wrote very true things. Of course, I am perfectly aware of Malmsteen's limitations; it really saddens me that a talent of his level has ruined himself with his own hands, perhaps, as Dreamwarrior wrote, for money and drugs, I don't know, I just know he had a tremendous gift and over time he has diminished it. Thank you for commenting on my review and especially for not holding onto the disagreements we had at the beginning; for me, it's water under the bridge, today I consider you a friend of the forum, also because you're an intelligent person! See you soon everyone!

I forgot a tremendous guitarist who, at least for me, deserves to be in the top 5: I'm talking about Uli Jon Roth, a remarkable guitar master and perhaps the greatest disciple of Hendrix.

Hey Mayem, speaking of Malmsteen, if you get a chance, check out my review of Alcatrazz with the Swede and let me know what you think, I would love to hear your thoughts! See you soon!

To say that Steve Vai is compositional incompetent means being incompetent with the guitar; that's your opinion, but I believe many, like me, would take great distances from such a statement. I respect the fact that you don't like him, but the rest is such a mumbo jumbo that I don’t even know if it’s worth commenting on. Maybe we can discuss it again when you listen to the first 3-4 notes of "Tender Surrender" or "For the Love of God." Bye.

Yes, it's true, I believe he accepted only for economic and image reasons; you know, joining Whitesnake meant stepping into history. He was already famous, but it certainly was a great opportunity to give more visibility to his solo career. I remember that Passion and Warfare came out the following year! One note: in Sailing Ships there's a stratospheric Coverdale, but also Glenn Hughes in the background, and you can really hear him!! PS: Thank you Marco for your comment on my review, you're a friend and we always click right away!!

I believe this is truly a great CD to have, one of the best in its genre. As always, you write excellent reviews, as a seasoned journalist, even if you say you’re not, and for this (just like I asked some other friends) I would like to ask you a favor: I recently published a review of Alcatrazz featuring Malmsteen, and even though you probably won’t like the genre, I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on it, especially if you know the music! Thanks Enrico, talk soon! PS: I replied to your suggestion for a ranking of the best guitarists on the Flexable review by Steve Vai!

Hi Vinsex, thank you for going to the Randy Rhoads website. It's true, it tends to be a bit overemphasized, but apart from that, it's currently the most detailed one I've found! Listen, even though I know you don't like it, I would love to have your judgment on my review of Alcatrazz with Malmsteen. It's the first one I've written and I'd like to hear your opinion (if you've had a chance to listen to the album, even better!) Thanks and see you soon, bye!

I share your opinion, Filippo, but you see, it’s not that Steve Vai is incapable of managing himself. With Whitesnake, he had to prepare an album "Slip of the Tongue" in a hurry, without having the time to give his best. However, there are some really beautiful pieces like Sailing Ships where the guitar is anything but banal. With David Lee Roth, he obviously gave his best and had all the time to manage his talent.
