Yngwie J. Malmsteen Odyssey

misterB, you can't judge a musician just by a few videos on YouTube; listen to Rising Force or the orchestral album and then we can talk again about whether he's expressive.
Alcatrazz feat.Yngwie J.Malmsteen Live Sentence

In the days of Alcatrazz and Rising Force, I think he demonstrated a great feel as well; if you listen closely, you'll find much more than just speed, which I can't say about his recent works, where the artistic and creative vein seems practically exhausted.

Thank you for the judgment, how should I put it... hermetic!

Exactly, sorat, you took the words right out of my mouth. When it comes to talking about bands that have made history in rock worldwide, one can think of many things, but certainly not the Ramones. As for Satriani, Vai, and Malmsteen, they have changed the way we understand the electric guitar; with them, this instrument became something else. Some may find it thrilling, others may not, but the evidence can't be denied. The Ramones, on the other hand, are just one of many bands that I believe will fade into obscurity. In rock history, dear Beat, there will always be and ONLY the various Beatles, Stones, Led Zeppelin, and Deep Purple.

Now I realize who you are!!! You wrote that review on Sex and Religion by Vai, how should I say... never mind. With all due respect, I don't know how you can think that Malmsteen in Rising Force has a "toy sound," but have you listened to it or are you just speaking from hearsay? Anyway, I don't think there are any decent guitars for 150 euros; save up some extra money, and if you want an Ibanez, aim for a Japanese one.
Vinnie Moore Time Odyssey
Voto:
Listen, your conservatory studies seem to have clouded your mind; Vinnie Moore is a modern electric guitar composer who draws inspiration from classical music but adapts it in a rock key, and this is perhaps what you don't understand. Frankly, it's tiresome to hear the same old stories; the electric guitar is not a cello or a flute, it wasn't born to make classical music, and those like Malmsteen first and then Moore who have managed to create neoclassical compositions with this instrument, have effectively elevated it, bringing it to levels unimaginable years before.

great review, for a classic that will never fade away
Jason Becker Perspective

Indeed, I am among those who recognize a marked talent in Becker, but it's difficult to give a judgment. Perpetual Burn was an album with some very beautiful ideas, but still immature; this one is certainly more advanced and mature musically, but then illness made it impossible to continue his career. Malmsteen was stunning at the beginning; in fact, I only listen to his early works now, particularly focusing on Rising Force. Then he kept repeating the same music, the same diminished scales, and nowadays I can't even listen to him anymore. He said it all in those 2 or 3 years, and after that, it's been a deep darkness. What a pity, with that talent, he could have done many other things.
