G3 G3: Live in Tokyo

We may all be idiots as you say, but this is an absolutely bland G3 and it's judged as a whole, not just for Steve Vai!! But if we really have to find a "culprit," I think it's Petrucci, who didn't integrate at all with Vai and Satriani; he seemed like an express train traveling on his own!

I haven't listened to the album yet, but I'll try to do it soon! Regarding Malmsteen, Matt7, you’re right in saying that he tends to repeat himself; it's a flaw that unfortunately has characterized him for years now. However, to say that he plays "the usual bends, the usual vibratos, the usual notes" is somewhat reductive. He is a master of bends, vibratos, and these techniques; the problem, rather, is that he should channel them into somewhat different musical solutions from the usual!

I listened to the cover of Black Star a while ago and I admit that compared to Malmsteen, it's a disappointment; he didn't play it well at all. However, I believe that his talent is equally great, of course not comparable to Malmsteen at 16-17 years old, but if we had to make a comparison with him, how many would measure up???
Greg Howe, Victor Wooten, Dennis Chambers Extraction
Voto:
I don't know this album and I can't judge it, but from what I know of Greg Howe, he's one of the coldest and most characterless guitarists I've ever listened to. He can only play really fast, but nothing more, so in my opinion, being able to play an instrument is worth zero!

Since I'm here, I'll reply too!! Well Earl, your criticism is fundamentally right; Blackmore himself has repeatedly stated that Malmsteen has a unique natural talent, but it's often wasted, and I have to agree with this thought. His last albums are even obscene for a guitar master like him; however, Odissey is still a good album in the genre. If you give it a 1, then what would you give to Unleash the Fury? It's pointless to repeat that the great Malmsteen should be sought at the beginning of his career; there, in my opinion, he set an absolute maximum for everyone in the neoclassical rock genre. Unfortunately, I’m sorry to say, even for himself!

And to think that not long ago I (notoriously critical of Wylde!!) had encouraged you to write a review on Book of Shadows, the result is nothing short of surprising, an extraordinarily well-written piece of communication that rightly deserves a spot among the best reviews on Debaser! Really, many compliments from me as well.
Yngwie Malmsteen Fire & Ice

I would say that the review is perfectly on point, the rating is essentially fair, Fire and Ice remains a good album, but it could have been much better with a less polished production and the band of Odissey. Great job dreamwarrior!
Yngwie Malmsteen Trilogy

Crying is the apotheosis of Malmsteen, a piece of rare beauty, where he manages, in an absolutely brilliant way, to fuse his music with that of the master Ritchie Blackmore, demonstrating, among other things, that he has an incredible feeling... I'm sorry, but in front of a piece like this, any electric guitarist, virtuoso or not, falls short; if I were a professional guitarist, I would hang my guitar on the wall, but fortunately, I only play for fun!!!

Yes, that's correct. To be precise, it's the title of a beautiful song by Alcatrazz with Malmsteen-Bonnet. On YouTube, it's "Go Play It," as he replaced the Swede who meanwhile embarked on a solo career with the glorious Rising Force! I answer the big question: it's not a fake, but a devoted fan of God, just like I was a fan of Malmsteen back in the day!
