The album was the last notable one by Queen (excluding the swan songs The Miracle and Innuendo). I give you two because you didn't nail a categorization that is clear. Where do you hear the metal on this album? Do you know that in '78 Black Sabbath and Rainbow already existed? Did you know that during that time Iron Maiden were in the rehearsal studio recording their first album? Queen made only one "metal" song and it's Stone Cold Crazy, which, contrary to what many believe, was one of the first songs composed under the name Queen and the very first to be played live by the band in 1970 (although it was later included in Sheer Heart Attack).

A very heartfelt and appreciated review by those who already know the album, but if someone knows nothing about Hole and POTI, reading the review doesn't really give much insight. It feels like one of those reviews that appear in national newspapers (not meant as an offense).

ps: "And what they do is evolve what death metal has been in a direction that is, however, opposite to what has now become the norm: I’m referring to the extremism that later led to brutal death" ... if only it were so ... now the most popular evolution of death is metalcore for arrogant, lobotomized teenagers with teeth that still smell like milk!

Okay, it’s a death album, but there are Death bands like Amorphis, Dark Tranquillity, Morbid Angel, and Death... I'm glad they're WWF fanatics, but you didn’t tell us anything about the band beyond the protected geographical designation and that they do death, but it’s not death like the others??? I mean? What kind of music do they make? What are the tracks like? Are there keyboards? Are there solos? Is the voice growled? Or does it alternate between growl and clean? References? Totally incomplete and useless review...

Great Phidias! Getting better and better!

I'm currently listening to "Triumph or Agony"; if you overlook the excessive orchestrations, it's really a great album... with exploration of new territories like in "Silent Dream," which feels like an aor track rearranged in a metal style!

Strange that you've already heard it, the promos aren't out yet since the promoters are all on vacation... anyway... everything can happen...
