Tom Waits The Heart Of Saturday Night
Voto:
This is the Tom Waits I prefer, jazzy, metropolitan, and reflective.
Fabrizio De André Canzoni

I don't closely follow the singer-songwriter repertoire, but De Andrè's poetry never leaves one indifferent. A brilliant review, with the introductory note being frame-worthy due to its witty reference to the Sanremo week.

Great review, I'm going to get it right away.
Death Cab For Cutie Live @ Rainbow 21/02/06

I just finished downloading Transatlanticism (the album) and I'm enjoying it with my headphones (I'm at work): intimate and damn inspiring. I understand that the magic can dissipate live, what a shame.
Cat Power The Greatest

I too am an enthusiastic fan of "You Are Free" and was unaware of the release of this "The Greatest," which I will immediately add to my virtual wishlist. A magnificent review for its balance and expertise, but it would have deserved a 5 for the second sentence alone, at the beginning, where the reviewer reminds himself and all of us that the best approach to listening to an album is to take a secular and objective stance, especially when confronting the work of artists for whom one holds blind and unconditional esteem and trust. Congratulations Hal.

Really Hal, it's not flattery. See you very soon.

Hal, thank you so much. I can't hide the fact that my first contact with this site was through the contributions of you, josi, grasshopper, mullah, sfascia carrozze, johnofpatmos, odradek, and others I can't remember at the moment: the quality of your reviews excited me to the point that I could no longer suppress the urge to write.

Odradek, if only they were all like you, I would be surrounded by annoying people! When I spoke of DePurazione, I meant to refer only to the tone of the discussion, which might seem a bit smug to some. Never, ever, would I renounce a style that, as such, is an expression of my persona and of which, by the way, I childishly take pride. Thank you very much, Massimof.

I warmly thank josi, senmayan, grassoppher, odradek, sfascia carrozze, and jim morrison for the generous consent they expressed regarding my review and for the friendly welcome atmosphere they intended to extend to me in the de-baserian community. I also extend my gratitude to geenoo and voiceface, whose observations I welcome gladly, with the commitment, starting from the next review, to cleanse the content of any feeling of heaviness or professor-like formality: if I have conveyed such an unpleasant impression, I apologize; this was due to my fault, albeit entirely unintentional.
