Edvard Grieg Piano Concerto - "Peer Gynt" Suites nn. 1 e 2 - 2 Melodie Nordiche

Grass, I haven't heard Geza Anda's version, but I imagine it’s superb: I have his complete recordings of Mozart's piano concertos with the Camerata Academica des Salzburger Mozarteums, simply magnificent!

A warm thank you to all those who have had the patience to finish reading this lengthy review, commenting on it with extreme generosity. As for the debate regarding the "pompous and presumptuous" language (quote), allow me to exercise my right of reply. For my part, I typically compose the review while listening to what I am about to discuss (often at quite a loud volume!), precisely in order to convey to the reader the stimuli and sensations of the direct audition: the euphoria, the pleasure, the enthusiasm for the music undoubtedly ends up reflecting in the style and syntax, almost in an attempt to emulate, with writing, those melodies that I inadequately describe. The sophistication of language, in short, is not meant to be a display of skill but is merely an expressive urgency that rides the wave of euphoria. Similarly, I am driven by the desire to share my tastes and musical choices in the most exhaustive and convincing way possible: hence the tone that may be somewhat treatise-like, a product of my manic obsession for communication that is as complete and satisfying as possible. So, no arrogance or presumption, just a desire to do things well, with respect for the masterpieces being discussed and for those who read me.

I've heard so much about it, but I still haven't managed to arrange a meeting with the composer from Tbilisi, and Josi's words only intensify the urge to make a purchase. The review is wonderful, thorough in its description, effective in its summary, and innovative in proposing paths, connections, and analogies that bridge the arts: an example that would be worth re-presenting and following.

Thanks, then I guess in the meantime I'll be running e-mule: just in case of any sudden strikes, I'll break the piggy bank...

What a lovely suggestion! I, too, join the multitude enchanted by "Plaisirs d'Amour," while I am missing this "Steppe"; Hal, Odradek, is it time to break open the piggy bank?

Beautiful review. In my personal ranking, Countdown To Ecstasy, Pretzel Logic, Katy Lied, and Aja are superior to this one...but just to nitpick...

These Quintorigo have passed me by without causing any particular excitement, but sponsored by mister Sfascia they rise to the dignity of interest.
