Beautiful review, a more than intriguing album, although it seems to me that the first self-titled one is superior.

Hi Josi! It's true, OSTs detached from images often lose meaning and depth. Only a few stand on their own, and those are the works of greats like Morricone.

"Batman Begins" is the title, which came out last summer, if I remember correctly. It revisits the beginning of the story, delving much deeper into the complex genesis of the tortured personality of the hero. The more realistic and credible portrayal of all the gadgets and gizmos of the man-bat is also commendable. Yes, I feel inclined to recommend it to you. Director Christopher Nolan also directed a highly successful thriller titled "Memento," featuring a reverse timeline, from the end to the beginning (a trick later copied by others, as seen in the film "Irreversible" with Monica Bellucci). This one comes highly recommended too.

Anyway, since we're on the topic, I didn't mind the latest Batman by Christopher Nolan. What do you think, Hal?

Very interesting proposal and a great review. I absolutely love the Van Gogh-style cover.

I too slightly prefer the first Batman by Tim Burton (but perhaps it's an intellectual stance that leads me to consider certain debuts superior), yet I hadn't paid attention to the soundtrack, in other films perhaps more in the spotlight (one above all, the recent, beautiful, Big Fish).
