They have moved to a major label, yes, but the result is a dark and uncompromising album without peaks, unlike the more accessible (and overall better) previous release Lunar Womb, which is undoubtedly the must-have album by The Obsessed. I agree with the 3.5.

Reading the pages of ZiOn (and of ghemi, obviously) for me is like diving into a maze of unknown names and rarely encountered references. And I keep taking notes, then who knows, maybe I'll listen.

Mmmm, I couldn't say if this is the cornerstone of post-rock (Spiderland?), nor do I fully grasp the discussion about deconstruction (to me, they seem more like progressive suites in a more modern and electronic perspective), but these are discussions that are somewhat beside the point. What is certain: a splendid album.
