Can Monster Movie

The krautrocksampler is a book that is truly enjoyable to read, but it exaggerates in praising certain records.

Skin Graft, I checked it out but I don't know any of those bands! What would you recommend I listen to?

You can find practically everything on eMule, but I think I downloaded it with DC++. On DC++, I connect to a server called "indious for life" or something like that.

Yesss, bring on the krautrock! I wouldn’t call Monster Movie a 5-star masterpiece, the later albums are better. Can, for me, are a notch below Faust and Neu, but still absolutely fantastic and light-years ahead of England, the USA, and Europe (like many German bands of that era). The German rock of the early '70s (to call it just kosmische Musik is reductive) is perhaps the best that 20th-century popular music has produced. WE WANT MORE KRAUT REVIEWS ON DEBASER!

I, for example, found Cunning Stunts, Sexy Pee Story, and Old Gold by the Cows (all out of print) on eBay for less than 10 euros each (if I remember correctly).

I downloaded it (it's out of print), but I've seen that occasionally there's a copy popping up on eBay; with a bit of luck, you might be able to get it at a good price.

@ Lewis Tollani: stunning who? the White Noise or the La Dusseldorf? @ Eneathedevil: well, I said that Neu are post mainly because they are out of time, as egebamyasi mentions in their review. They contributed to reformulate the language of rock and in this they have not yet been surpassed, least of all by so-called post-rock (which owes a lot to them, just listen to Djed by the Tortoise). They certainly influenced English punk (Johnny Rotten, for example, was clearly inspired by them; just listen to Hero or After Eight on Neu75 or the second one by La Dusseldorf). Anyone who idols (like me) the German rock of the early '70s should read this article by Klaus D. Mueller (manager among others of Klaus Schulze) that completely dismantles it and completely dismantles Julian Cope's krautrocksampler as well. Just to have a more critical perspective. For the editors: if you change the name of the group to "The Cows," my other (terrible) reviews will also appear. Or, even better, remove the "The" from the other two.
