Aoki Tamasaka, Aoki Tasakama, Aoki Tasamaka... ok got it AOKI TAKAMASA.
Pure electronics, but nothing so primitive that it takes us on a journey only in the mind without feeling anything on the flesh... yes, a nice little trip into the future, into a warm and welcoming future but beware of being distracted for too long, at the risk of absolute disorientation.
"Quantum" is the fourth album, at least I believe, by Aoki and like the others it is very abstract, in the sense that it is, as I have read around, exclusively made of software preparation.
This avant-garde electronics pioneer manages to blend sounds in many ways while always maintaining a strong detachment from the more trivial and predictable electronics. Truly something very experimental, strange, and unconventional from a "civilization" (the Japanese one) famous for a lot of copying (though not in the musical field), but if there is one thing we should kneel to the Japanese for, it is precisely electronics in its broadest meaning... this album is clear proof of that.
There are 8 grooves of electronics as I’ve already said, but the broad vision of this expert artist from the land of the rising sun goes beyond just a still cold computer, despite the subject's skill. The album concludes with a simple melody on an acoustic base, to which each person can give their own meaning: a liberation, an apocalypse, a fart.
Strong vibrations for a mythical "I Colored It Yellow", supported by vibrations and small electric shocks then recovering, hinting at a melody only to disappear in a way that is anything but stealthy. "Rec-Rec": perhaps an anthem of bagpipes from the year 3000, when machines will fly and prostitutes will be robots, yet remembering we are flesh, and Aoki injects it into the future with some electronic whimpers that are very reminiscent of an infant growing, growing too quickly...
"They' ve Been Waiting": IT IS STRANGE HOW A VOICE GIVES HOPE.
"Some Books And A Book Shelf": THE HOPE CONTINUES
Other tracks to discover. Not recommended for lovers of more hardcore electronics.
